We used to all post in the regular hangout threads.

People frequently were just too intimidated to post or frequently tried to stupidly derail a discussion by behaving like children. And then frequently there were miniature turf wars between established members and new ones. It's been months since I had to chew anyone out for being a dumbass and it's been a while since anyone pointed out that I'm full of myself and how I'm a power mad jackass. I think that alone warrants separate hangouts.

Besides, we have considerably more personal discussions in the RHO from time to time that really wouldn't go over too well in this one. I sincerely doubt you guys are interested in my complicated romantic life, my difficult professional life, my absurdly confusing familial situations, or being kept up to date on stuff that's fucking depressing as shit. Due to the different atmosphere of the RHO, it's not uncommon for people to post things that the general populous shouldn't really be aware of.
