Papa will be proud if he sees little Toddomy (tee hee) playing Dark Souls XII.
I don't mind the occasional vidya, but I'm not dumping hundreds of dollars on next gen consoles and smartphones just because all the TV ads told them they were cool.

I don't even plan on going next gen myself, who knows if I'll even have any vidya around by the time I have kids.

1.) If the kid is getting that amount of cash dropped on him, the parent doesn't care for his college
    2.) Plutonium?

If the creators doesn't cry in frustration for bringing back the meaning of hard for the sake of being hard.

They're "not hip" as it were.

Alternatively, maybe he's getting the games.

    Oh wait...
My Dad trolled me one year.

We've always done the one present early on Christmas Eve opening. He gave one to my sister and one to me.

    What were they?

Those like 20 packs of AA and AAA batteries.

OH GOD WHAT FREAKING AWESOME TOY WOULD WE BE GETTING TOMORROW THAT NEEDS ALL THESE BATTERIES

True parenting right there. At least your tv remote and potential handheld wouldn't die for about a semester

I was still blowing in cartridges when all the cool kids had their fancy pants discs.

    Builds character.

And a squirrel like tendency to hoard games. Because OH GOD, THEY MIGHT STOP SELLING THE THINGS I NEED SOON.

    Books or socks?

My one present was always something uncool. My parents saw to that.

"Oh gee, a sweater. Thanks ma. Imma go to bed now, lest the excitement of wearing clothing keep me up all night"

Then I wouldn't hear such character building stories. By that I mean laugh at unfortunate circumstances.
