Is that the same as the PS1 Version? Just curious of the changes
Wow, that looks nice. No, the PSX version doesn't have cutscenes like that

That's pretty much how the PSX version is, it just doesn't go through the details

You could probably do it in 1 to 2 depending on how well you place your save files and how well you do with using the ending mechanics.

And no, it's pretty much for the best to simply go for the best possible ending from the start. Being that it makes the most sense, explains the most, and is the canonical ending for the other entries.
Yeah, that's pretty much what I expected. Well, ok then. Should I go through with a walkthrough, or just wing it? I'm guessing that it's best to give all of the artifacts or whatever back to King Odin (I think that's what his name is, anyhow)?

You may need a walkthrough, since several of the seal rating things are easy to miss. As for artifacts, you can keep all of them if you want, it doesn't really affect your endings. I advise keeping at least some since it does make a few things a bit easier. You just have to decide whether or not the penalty is worth it.

It's the same in both versions.

And that's really more of a primer than a full on tutorial.

It tells you what button does what and shows you the basic way of handling dungeons and whatnot.

Compare to something like FFXIII where they explain every single mechanic in extreme detail, lock you out of abilities for a good chunk of the game, and hold your hand constantly.

For instance, they tell you what the gems are for like once, and they never really go into huge amounts of detail on how to get them or set up overkills. You're on your own with that. Most games would tell you "use ability X to launch, then use Y to hit in the air. Now that your meter is maxed, time and coordinate attacks to maximize gem output".

My childhood involved lots of hand holding and 2x4s. Are those there too?

I used to wear hats a lot too back in the day. In fact, I think it had something to do with my current hair loss.

Myth. The only way hats could cause hair loss is if it's cutting bloodflow to your follicles.

Unless you happen to be wearing a super tight hat you should be fine.

So I should loosen the belt that's tightly wrapped around my head?

Nah, really it's damage from having a mohawk for ~5 years. Putting so much Aquanet and Elmers in it was what eventually killed it.

Not unless you were soaking it into your scalp.

Baldness happens under the skin. Anything you do with your hair after it's outside your head is unimportant.

Genetics are a much larger factor than environment.

Although I do recommend avoiding excessive radiation and hanging out at nuclear plants.

Not going through chemotherapy is also a good way.
