I'm not a fan of euro-style PM but I do love me some power/thrash and US power metal. Give the band Sanctuary a try if you haven't already - they're the precursor band to Nevermore but with a much more thrash/power style rather than groove.

edit: Stay away from the Morgana Lefay self-titled album. It was created by basically a different band to get out of contract requirement and isn't even remotely the same sound.
I got Knowing Just As I, Symphony of the Damned, The Secret Doctrine, and Grand Materia. I've heard Sanctuary before, I like them, never got any albums though.

I avoid bands with Satanic or Anti-Christianity lyrical themes; the songs are stupid most, if not all, of the time.

Grand Materia is one hell of an album. Almost as good as Savatage or Jon Olivas Pain in full form.

Luckily, Sanctuary only have two albums. Refuge Denied and Into The Mirror Black and both are quite good. Its not until their time as Nevermore (Warrel Dane on vocals, Steve Sheppard on Bass and live guitarist Jeff Loomis on lead guitar, so essentially the same band) that they started to really rack up the discography, and an inconsistent one at that.

Got any recommendations for me? As much as I like the harsher side of power metal, it isn't my speciality.

Kiuas, and Vhäldemar are pretty heavy, instrumentally more so.
Spirit of Ukko is the best Kiuas album.

Most of my power metal is in the Euro style .

They are good. I wouldn't call them the best power metal band though.

Complicated by the fact that there's two acts using the name. Luca Turilli left/got given the boot and both sides want to continue on as Rhapsody.

Lol Helloween. I saw them pop up in related on tube a couple days ago so I gave them a listen before I remembered how bad they are.

Bumpin' some The Sins of Thy Beloved right now.

Helloween is a good band . I admit I'm not big on a few of their songs. Gotta respect them for being around so long without having any true stinker albums.

They have had a few albums that were not that great, but their old stuff, and some of their new stuff is very good.

Ok, another great Power Metal band.....Sonata Arctica

This, this a thousand times. In terms of power metal, I pretty much exclusively listen to Sonata Arctica.

Yeah, I want to see them live, one of my good friends got to meet the band, and see them live up in Seattle about 4 years ago I think, and said they were awesome.

The new albums aren't nearly as good . If the entire album played like Flag in the Ground, Last Days of Grays would have been fantastic.
