Considering the genre mix, I very much doubt that I would like them.

Ah, okay, to each their own I guess. What genres do you tend to like by the way? Ive recently been getting back into some of the more classic traditional metal like Metal Church or Anvil, but my favorite genres consists of Technical, Thrash, and traditional Death and some subgenres involving a mix of eachother.

Ive recently come accross a pretty neat power metal band called Heavenly, so far they are pretty creative in their playstyle. Usually power metal is a hit-or-miss experience for me, but occasionally I find a good album or two.
What bands make you tick then? As far as power metal goes, I just can't listen to Symphony X or Sonata Arctica anymore.
Silence was the last album that I like until ive come to grow discontent with them, but they are still good.
My favorite Power Metal band is Helloween, badass band, almost all their albums are badass.
You didn't like Winterheart's Guild?Originally Posted by Mupen64 Man
I make it a point not to bring Sonata Arctica up much; there are too many retarded kids, with no idea what metal is, that listen to them. Good for their album sales and popularity I suppose.
Spanish power metal bands are usually good.
Twilightning was great, until Swinelords came out. I don't know what happened with that album, other than being terrible and not sounding like them at all.
Shard, you're a fan of older/US style power metal.
What do you make of Morgana Lefay?
Well, looks like I'm buying my ticket to Soundwave Revolution. Some absolute shit bands on the lineup, but I can't go past potentially seeing all of the following (scheduling allowing):
Alice Cooper
Bad Religion
Machine Head
Danzig
Thursday
Cro-Mags
Sisters of Mercy
Devin Townsend
Gojira
Hatebreed (closest moshcore toughuy, I am)
Four Year Strong
Whitechapel (purely to fuck up scene kiddies in the pit. The last few months have been rough for me. By october I should have a veritable fucking warzone of repressed anger going)
Kvertelak
Watain (never thought I'd see these guys live)
The Acacia Strain (again, I live for the pit. If I ain't beaten and bloodied, it was a sedate show).
The guy doing the vocals for Morgana Lefay is almost the same as Jon Oliva.
Solid band, thanks for the recommendation.
Yeah, I was thrown by the similarity the first time as well.
I'm not a fan of euro-style PM but I do love me some power/thrash and US power metal. Give the band Sanctuary a try if you haven't already - they're the precursor band to Nevermore but with a much more thrash/power style rather than groove.
edit: Stay away from the Morgana Lefay self-titled album. It was created by basically a different band to get out of contract requirement and isn't even remotely the same sound.
