It's just that easy. 1-4 pretty much is the final real boss. The ending boss is practically a joke.

Although the justification is more or less that Allant isn't able to control the power of the old one, and it ended up mutating him into a weak as shit demon who can barely defend himself. Possibly because he took a few too many shortcuts. Compared to the main character, who is able to control that power and has spent the entire game being groomed by the Maiden to be some sort of super demon. In short, the king wanted to be what you became by that point. Obviously, you show him the difference between the two of you.

It's unfortunate then, that I sort of ruined the 1-4 fight with Firestorm. I thought I was going to die, so I cast it quickly. Then I noticed it took away about half of his health, cast it again, and that was that.

And now, after watching two films, it's time to get my day together and then waste it away indexing the PS2 section.
