I can beat the songs, but I don't know what sort of mental disability or visual impairment stops me from actually knowing how the hell I'm playing drums in GH5. It's so confusing.

Or maybe it's because the game abuses the drum pedal. Ack.

So you play fully on reflex and muscle memory?

Congrats, you're not an actual drummer.

I know I'm not. But how does that work?

I swear, even Never Miss A Beat feels like I'm playing 25 or 6 to 4. The charting feels strange in GH.

Also, what are those silver notes for?

It was supposed to be "now you're an actual drummer". I fucked up. Sue me.

It does, but that's because they chart it on 5 drums instead of 4, and 2 pedals instead of 1. Also, GH charting is funny. Does this surprise you?

Pressure sensitivity. You have to hit those harder than the normal notes otherwise it won't register. In theory, anyway. In practice, not so much.

From personal watching, Spike McFang is Ray's worst LP. You'd think being a magic version of oddjob would be cool, but no...

    Do I get a cookie?

That makes sense, I mean, I fumble my way through four stars of And Justice for All and I can play most of Rush stuff without dying but I can't play Jailbreak? The hell? I like playing Guitar on it, but this is basically my baby steps into GH drumming, now I don't feel like doing it again.

Fuck that, I don't want these to break like the old ones.

I think I'm ready to ask my Lego Rock Band back and then clear most of the achievements, then do the export.

Because God knows I'll never get the 100% on Final Countdown's solo.

It did have a high point or two. Killing a boss with chicken soup, while so incredibly ridiculous it made me want to slam my head into the nearest wall for an hour, was kind of quirky.

But seriously, that game. Why? Just....WHY?

Here you...where'd my arm go? COOKIE!

Join the club. GH is *surprise* built for guitar players. The rest is just added on stuff. Which is why it's IMPOSSIBLE to find someone on some other instrument for trophy/achievement purposes. Unless boosting is involved.

    Good idea.

Oh, about that. RB3 has goals for imported songs. 100%ing Final Countdown's solo is one of them. There's also one for FCing every song in the game. Have fun with that!

(But really, that solo is fairly easy provided you don't mind 2 handing the buttons. But I still always fuck up somewhere. Damn my fuckhuge fingers!)

It's already done. It was the first file I translated, and I'm pretty sure it's close to being the biggest. Just my luck. On the plus side of things, nothing else is going to seem as bad now.

Totally need to spoil myself on Air, though. Will make some of the later stuff much easier to translate if I know what actually happens.
