Your PS1/PS2 would need to be modified to run burned games.Or some sort of swapping methods. Burned games don't normally run on unmodified consoles without some sort of exploit to take advantage of.
It's disappointing, but I looked into it, and it seems the best option is the Game Enhancer disc. (I could never perform surgery on my poor ps1/ps2nor have anyone else do it.)
