    Slayer went the fuck off.

Mortal Sin played excellent. I'd never heard any of their stuff, and by the looks of it, neither did a shitload of the people who were there. There wasn't many people standing at that point in time. Probably only about 200. I felt a bit stupid rocking out to them, because really, nobody else was. But they were fucking excellent. They only played 4 songs.

Mastodon were off the fucking hook. they played about 11 or so songs, I really can't remember. The mosh was awesome too. It wasn't soft, but it wasn't too intense.

I was pretty much in the msot intense part of the mosh for the whole show up until a bit through Slayer.

I was with 3 of my mates. 1 fucked off right at the start up to the fence without us even knowing, so we didn't know where he was the whole time until after the show. So I was with 2 other mates, and we'd stayed together the whole time. Within a minute into the first song, I'd lsot my shoe. By the time it finished, I couldn't see my mates. I was getting pummeled all over the shop. I mean, imagine it, a 16 year old kid among huge fucking 30+ year olds headbanging and jumping around tight packed. So anyway I survived another 3 or so songs before I started fearing for my life. I was only occasionly touching the ground, so I started moving the fuck outta there. I sat in the seats for about 10-15 minutes, then rushed back in when they started Postmortem. Every cunt was tired by then, so the mosh wasn't as hectic and the rest of the night was sweet from there on. I found my shoe dirty and trampled after the show.

The two funniest things I saw on the night:

A short lady with denim jacket, tight pants etc. pushing people out of the way going "Move out of my fucking way, I'm 50 years old!" It was hilarious.

And when I was looking for my shoe I found some eyeglasses that looked like they'd been busted up with a hammer.

Get 'Mayhemic Destruction' and 'Face of Despair' Darth, good albums...get their new one too when it comes out next month. Saw em in a club that couldn't have had more than 30 people and they still got the crowd going, good show. 4 songs is a bit short though.

Also, you're a pussy for going to sit down.

Out of the 200, I was one of the about 40 actually jumping about to them.

Also, no fucking way, I could hardly hold my own in there, it was insane.

Slayer was pretty burly, I knew King and Hanneman were pretty sloppy live, but yeah, pretty fucking sloppy, still a good show though. Would've liked to have heard some more of Show No Mercy/Hell Awaits stuff and Altar/Jesus Saves, but setlist was pretty good otherwise:

    Darkness Of Christ (intro)
    Disciple
    War Ensemble
    Jihad
    Die By The Sword
    Show No Mercy
    Captor Of Sin
    Cult
    Bloodline
    Mandatory Suicide
    Seasons In The Abyss
    Supremist
    Eyes Of The Insane
    Postmortem
    Silent Scream
    Dead Skin Mask
    Raining Blood
    South Of Heaven
    Angel Of Death

Mastodon were alright I guess as well, didn't really get the crowd going though and I didn't really know any of their stuff. Talked to the guys from Mastodon for a bit though when we ran into them at Hungry Jacks whilst getting a feed after the show, decent lads, seemed to appreciate me throwing fries at the guy behind the counter who was clearly high as a kite haha. Also, I stayed in the pit the whole time, unlike some pussies.

There was a signifigant change in the depth and intensity of the pit when Mastodon started playing, but it was mostly 16 - 25 year olds (maybe) rocking out. All the big burly 30+ Slayer fans were just standing and watching. Oh, and before they played, I started a 'Mast-o-don Mast-o-don etc.' chant, and it only lasted for about a minute. Man, I wish I could ahve talked to them, they're like my favourite band. After we'd showered, we went down to the lobby of the motel and sat around talking and shit, and we must ahve let about 20 dudes from the concert in. The last dude was a dude that we saw when we got there, and he was like "You guys must be here for the same reason as us " and we were like "Fuck yeah \m/" So anyway, we let him in, and apparently he imported BC Rich guitars, and he ahd a V.I.P pass. He was at the front inside the fence for the msot of the show, and he showeed us these fucking awesome photos, and then some more photos of him with Slayer. We were all pretty much drooling.

    Fucking hero, lucky bastard.

http://www.sonicagerecords.com/ tell me what you guys think of the bands that are on that label? They're a Greece-based metal label that sign heavy, power and death metal bands. I'm meant to be receiving some promo stuff from them soon to distribute to record companies and the likes, so I'm looking to get people into their music.

And, the best piece of information of the year...Sonata Arctica are doing a UK show ^____^ Their third ever. For a band that's just about to release their fifth studio album, that sucks, so there's no way in hell I'm missing it.

The new Orange Goblin album, Healing Through Fire, has leaked. It's pretty damn good thus far, a really strong mix of boozed out motorhead trashy rock/metal and stoner groove. A grimier UK cousin of Black Label Society, if I had to give a name comparision.

Agalloch - [Pale Folklore CD1 #06] Dead Winter Days might be the best song ever.

Listen to the album Pale Folklore. Now. Seriously. You must. Not even kidding.

Also, if PT doesn't play Arriving Somewhere, the concert will have not been worth it. That's just my take on the situation, though.

Pale Folklore. Seriously Theo. You like Opeth? You'll fucking love Agalloch.
