I suggest mikey burn his computer with lighter fluid to drive out teh demons. :O It worked on my old computer!
As I was walking down the stair,
    I met a man who wasn't there.
    He wasn't there again today.
    I wish, I wish he'd go away.

I had sort of the same situation learning to use the Dvorak keyboard. x_X It was actually painful to type for the first few weeks...
I actually wouldn't mind taking the time to learn how to manage Linux. If only it would install. All I get is strange errors after the Linux kernel loads up. I did manage to get Knoppix live cd to boot up, but it was slow as hell. After trying different versions and discs of Ubuntu, Knoppix, and openSUSE, I gave up. I never knew how freakin' hard it is to even install Linux.

This is indeed sage advice. Alternatively, thou canst douse thy processor in blessed waters. If it catcheth fire as a result, be not worried; 'tis just the evil being burned away.

I'm thinking of just buying a new PC. This one is pretty basic. 512MB of ram, nVidia GeForce 5200 FX, 2.9Ghz CPU, etc. Runs things just fine. But I've never had this much trouble with a PC since Windows ME.

Ack, that's weird. x_X I didn't really have any problems... And it ran perfectly stable for the duration that I had it installed...

XP is usually stable-ish, though, viruses notwithstanding. o.O

Yeah, I don't get why many people hate XP, it works perfectly with me. I only have reformatted it like...three times in two years for critical errors.

I second this, kinda like Jimi Hendrix guitar.

I can picture a medieval priest saying that.

With a USB flash as a necklace and all.

I actually run 2K rather than XP, but yeah, I agree. I used it for the longest time via my brother's computer and, besides the time he picked up a nasty virus, I don't recall anything ever going seriously wrong. Of course there were little errors here and there, but it is still Windows after all.

Hee hee. Sounds like the basis for a bad internet joke...

    How are things anyway, Fer?

Really? Well, maybe you can explain why I get an I/O error when trying to install Ubuntu.

I read this and thought, "Okay, I'm going to be really unfunny and write what I wrote backwards. To take it back! It'll be awful and cringe-worthy. Okay, so let's think about this, what's '...' backwards? Oh. Right."

Either I need sleep, or I'm completely dense. Or both.

I wish I had decent photoshopping skills.

Eh, well...I'm easter vacation, school is going sweet and almost everything on my life is kinda...slow and boring, you know, the kind of slow and boring that you are happy with.

I should be searching for a job though.

    What about you Ed?

That's good to hear. What sort of job would you like? Within reason, of course.

And things are fine, really. Got exams coming up soon, though. x_X First week back after the holidays, maybe. I came second place in a writing contest here, though, which was nice. Although I have to go to a reading of the winning works next month, which is a little bit daunting...
