Yay. I had to format my PC because XP fucked up the way I burned discs some how.

I know. This time it wasn't so painful since I didn't really have anything on the main HD that I hadn't already backed up before, so I had no gripes about reinstalling Windows. I just wish I could do something with Linux instead, but, oh well.

Once with our old computer, Windows died the same day I installed it. But that was the crapfest known as ERROR WINDOWS HAS PERFORMED AN ILLEGAL OPERATION. YOUR FILES ARE GONE, BUT HERE IS A BLUE SCREEN FOR YOU TO ENJOY INSTEAD. Aka Windows 98.

XP is usually stable-ish, though, viruses notwithstanding. o.O

I know. This time it wasn't so painful since I didn't really have anything on the main HD that I hadn't already backed up before, so I had no gripes about reinstalling Windows. I just wish I could do something with Linux instead, but, oh well.

I've resolved to swap over to Linux about six or seven different times. Usually I install it, and conclude after about three or four hours that it's just not worth the effort. I'm too used to Windows now... I know that Linux would be good if I put the time into learning it. But feeling like a computer idiot all over again for a few weeks somehow doesn't seem worth it.

I had sort of the same situation learning to use the Dvorak keyboard. x_X It was actually painful to type for the first few weeks...
