Years of womanizing and several sex partners every day finally caught up to him with syphilis which dulled his intellect immensely in its advanced stages. Even toward the end he was lucid at times and had great insight being his regular self. If Capone was not wise he would not be the wise guy's wise guy, he also would not have had a code of conduct precluding him from harming innocents with mobsters out to kill him and his associates being Chicago typewritered. He was so wise the police could only thank him for killing the worst criminals imaginable who did harm to and kill innocents and were fools with no code or tact like Capone did in spades. All I know is, if Capone had not existed many innocent people would have been killed, he was an unwitting force for good albeit for selfish reasons because he killed worthless cowards preying on the innocent who got what was coming to them once Al caught wind of it. Posthumous medals should adorn his grave for his crime fighting magnificence in society. There are going to be criminals no matter what, the ones without a code of conduct harming innocents have to answer to real gangsters like Capone who do good to balance the bad, those things will never change.
