    The sub has a knob on it that restricts the sound range it outputs through the speaker. Turn it down and you only get the lower frequencies.

    I mean with Sony it would have to be more high end to be decent. Pioneer is the same.

    My surround system is sony , receiver made in JAPAN and speakers/suboofer are made in some backwater asian country.

    Its a decent sound setup though, was $160 bones.

    Receiver is pretty heavy but nothing compared to a old time made in japan/usa/germany receiver, those sons of bitches will give you a hernia.
