THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

Yep
Keep an eye out though dude. You could find an old analog surround system like that, a quality brand (look for a reciever only and avoid brands that make other stuff like tvs etc).
If you can get one for nothing it will make a good stereo. It should have basic video inputs too which is cool for old consoles but it might not have component at all, and probably won't have OSD but the remote will have lots of functions anyway.

You need 2 subs man. Park one out the front door
Seriously though, I have 2 subs. My mains are just 2 way with aluminium tweeters.

I have as many receivers as I need now so if I find one cheap at a garage sale I'll be sure to let you know Warrior.
The 2 I have are a little different. One is about twice the size of the other and has a slightly lower high cut (like 40Hz or something, adjustable up to about 150), plus you can actually run it inline with a pair of speakers or just use the normal sub connector. The other sub is smaller and more basic.

I have an old NAD stereo receiver here that hasn't been used for quite some time. Solid unit but old so no remote capability (no sub output either, but if you have a sub with speaker cable in capability it isn't a problem).
If you weren't so far away I'd think about letting you have it.
