There's a reason it was forced this time dude. Be cool, previously all you had to do was reuse the same password but now it's different.

Well if there was a leak that's one thing and very understandable.

Also think that is something the userbase should be notified of

Why? I don't even know the details I just accept the fact it was necessary.

In case people use the same or similar password on other sites. Someone could link accounts and potentially gain access to something really important. Now of course, this is why you should always have different passwords but some people don't think that way.

Partially what Gypsy said, but I just feel like it is a nice gesture, and most other sites I have accounts on notified me that there was a security issue.

We notified people when it happened, t'was several years ago. Don't worry though guys, there were no leaks or anything. Some dude exploited a bug in an older vBulletin version we used at the time to gain admin access (sort of a big deal of a bug, that). As a result we did lots of security updates, and the password change is a part of that.

Edit: Oh, and admin acess just gives you the power to change things like current passwords; not to see them if that has to be pointed out. We were able to nip the breach in its bud, by the way.

I'd also rather see it removed though.

how about this. mods and admins ect all have a uniqueness to their names so they stick out a bit how about giving them a certain color an example would be admins have a dark red name mods a dark blue and retro's a teal color and our larger posters could be like purple or something regular users could just stay the same as they are now.

WIP clearing up the Requests forum to be junked

I have closed it for now

Read the top post for more information

I am in the middle of merging a few of the requests with the relevant request thread direct in the uploads section

I am only merging the few newer requests that did not get filled

I will eventually hide that section totally, once the clean up is complete

I was also thinking of hiding the posts in the main part of the uploads section so only the sub forums are shown... thoughts on that???

EDIT: Not doing anything more today with it, it can sit there for 1 wk then e removed/hidden, if it is still there can someone please send me a quick reminder and I will deal with it

    EDIT AGAIN :

More clean up done, just hidden and prevented posts in a couple of the root forums like the uploads section so it only shows sub forums
Upload Services = category only [Test Only, need feedback]
Emuporium = category only [Test Only, need feedback]

P.S. this can be reverted I may change it to what I done in the emulation/console help sections and just prevent posts in the root as it looks kinda odd now when you look from the Gaming & Emulation root & Emuporium root, with it set to be a Category only

P.P.S. Any are there other sections that need this sort of clean up?

This is still WIP all can be reverted (except for the Rom & ISO Requests forum that will get junked just left it there for now so users know where to post there requests if they previously used that section)

P.S. what about changing the Upload Service section name to File Shares (no rule changes required) it is for uploaders and downloaders and even requests though in the stuck thread

As far as I can tell, all of the mods and admins have their titles clearly displayed right underneath their usernames. Honestly seems kind of pointless to add more distinction IMO.
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

I like the idea though not sure how well it can be implemented some of the old forum hacks left us vulnerable to attacks, then again if that is exclusive to staff members it's not a bad idea to outline those will to give that little extra help

I went over the top with my one anyway

Just thought of this, how about a way to tag a user in a post? And they get a notification if they get tagged. That way if let's say the HO is actually busy for once, and someone leaves but another person left a response for them and it gets buried, they could tag them so they know they were replied to.

Perhaps a bit of an over hall, but what about a front end for the games? When I first tried the online plat in browser, I felt like I have to click on 10 links just to get to play. I'd suggest a "quickplay front-end" like interface in JAVA that has consoles on the left and games on the right. You could list the games in a DB like way to that it shows highest score and by who, how many times played, ect.
