    I've wrecked a lot of bicycles..it wasn't pretty. I'm clumsy..if that's not already obvious by now.

    Dropping a bike isn't crashing.
Most of the people I know who've crashed have spent minimal time in the hospital. My step-dad's best mate just t-bones a car that sped through a red light and flipped over the car or some crazy shit and injured his back/arm. Took him like 4 days to get out of the hospital and 2 weeks off before he could go back to work. The repairs for his bike are insanely pricey.

Accidents are pretty common for people who are just learning, especially when you throw in the people who don't take classes for driving one and classes on how to drive defensively. I've grown up around bikes my whole life(step-dad and mom are both in a biker club, uncle has been riding all his life ect) and I've seen plenty of people walking around after getting in a crash(not dropping it on the ground lmao).

There's a reason none of them would suggest getting a new bike unless you have a good amount of experience on a bike.

Sliding slightly off topic, this also applies to cars though.
Start used - get a new one when you get the experience.
I would definitely tell this to my younger me if I had the chance.

When I said dropping I meant coming off at speed, like on corners...no other vehicles involved. Even with full gear you can still break bones.

That's common but so is a full on crash. That could just be caused by the collective of Ohio just sucking balls at watching out for Bikers but I think that would translate to other parts of the world too. Most of the motorcycle accidents I know of are just cars/trucks being retarded. A dude at work had to shell out $300 to repair his bike because someone suddenly started backing up in the middle of the road to talk to a civilian on the sidewalk and slammed the guys front end.

Yeah it's mostly car drivers here that aren't aware of riders. It's the same for cyclists too.
People that ride or spend a lot of time with riders are more aware of motorcycles/bicycles.

Old people (I mean really old, not like myself or Sprung ) driving cars can be quite dangerous for motorcycles/bicycles sometimes, but they can be deadly to everybody on the road

Drivers here are too busy talking on the phone or texting to pay attention. I've lost count of how many times I was almost hit by a careless driver.

I second this, and not discriminating old folk like Gobby.
    Seriously though.
It's not just about their driving.
    Their temper counts.
Nothing beats an old guy, almost scratching your precious sedan, being at fault, menacing to call the cops, and SOMEHOW still looking for a brawl.

Wow. I saw a old lady hit a door with her cane because a hair salon opened a bit late. She was pissed. I don't know why old people are like that.

That's illegal here. You can use a hands free cradle setup...but you can't use the speaker function on a phone by itself like on your lap, the seat or whatever.
    Texting is totally illegal.
