Now the real question is, would you see me in public riding it?
I have no idea what you look like so probably not.

In my part of Ohio almost everyone rides a bike so you can find old bikes pretty easily. Harley speedsters can be found for 2.5-3k.

    That's the easiest part.

    Bikes are somewhat rare-ish here.
    Mostly motocross or whatever.
Portugal doesn't have that ''bike thing'' other countries do.
    You could say Portuguese are...passive?

That 2013 Ducati isn't an old bike.

    Oh.
By old bikes he was referring to that one?
I assumed he was talking about something along the lines of that yellow one.
    ...
    Hopefully I assumed right.

I would be surprised if you could get that Ducati for half or less than half that 10k price in the US...but I don't live there.

So you are saying, the price is actually nice, hm?
From my test-ride, it certainly felt confortable, and didn't have trouble handling it.
Only thing I'm not so sure about is the maintenance, because I'm mostly used with my car's maintenance, not REALLY sure on how a bike's maintenance goes, all I know is that I they take more...effort ( if that can be applied here ) than a car.
First officially owned bike, and stuff.
A friend said he would teach me the ropes, and the know-how, as soon as I bought either of them, so, I'm certainly looking forward to it.

It doesn't seem ridiculous for here anyway. But I'm not an expert on prices.
    Deadcats are nice bikes.

I was talking more in general. If you shop around here you can find older bikes for cheap. Considering the chance of crashing on a bike within your first 6 months buying new probably isn't worth it unless you have a lot of experience(in my opinion).

If you crash a bike chances are you're going to spend some time in hospital Or you'll be dead.
    Dropping a bike isn't crashing.
