Default FPS drops in Colin McRae Rally 2.0

    Hi people
I have FPS drops in Colin McRae Rally 2.0 in EpsxE 1.9.0
But weird is that in Arcade mode game working without problem but only in Rally mode game have FPS drops
I´m using Gpubladesoft 1.41 as graphics plugin when I switch to the soft plugin with F7 game working without FPS drops
But I love Gpubladesoft more than soft plugin
I have configured this plugin to the fastest (PSX quality) that mean that I have every options disabled or on low which I liked because games looks like on a real hardware and I have disabled ´dfe´ emulation because that is doing lines on the display and on texts in games and that looking bad
But if there nothing option how to resolve this with this graphics plugin so please say me how I can disable bilinear filtering in Soft plugin because with this Soft plugin games looks like if I enable bilinear filtering in that Gpubladesoft plugin or on OpenGL2 plugin the games is blurry which I don´t like it and in Gpubladesoft you can disable this but I don´t see that option in Soft plugin
    I have 4 GB RAM DDR2
    Intel Core 2 - 2.40 GHZ
    ATI Radeon HD 7500 series
    Thank you for help
    My Consoles:
    PS1 Chipped
    PS2 Chipped w/Matrix Infinity 1.99
    PS3 CFW Rogero 4.55
    PSP CFW 6.60 Pro-B 10
    Xbox Softmodded
    Xbox 360 RGH
    WII Softmodded

The soft plugin (P.E.o.P's soft) just use scale2x (stretched) to get that pixelated effect that you are after (needs to be stretched as some games use a strange res that unstretched would only fill in half the screen because the image should be stretched, also stick to multiples of 320x240 to make it a bit more accurate, 2x image would be 640x480)

Originally the PSX is blurred though due to standard def TV's even if you used a RGB scart that is the highest quality for SD TV's (real scanlines, not to be confused with the effect that is nothing like a real TV, real scan lines flicks between one line and the next to create a full screen image rather than the effect that just has every other line missing that and the TV's did blur the image making pixels less obvious anyway just because definition was blurred compared to HD of today, e.g. play a PSX game with a PS3 via HDMI (no filtering or effects) vs a PSX via SCART even on a HD set you will see a difference a bit more of a difference when one is on a SD set though)

Saying that bilinear filtering is maybe a little over the top for the blurring

To be honest if you want the best unfiltered emulator that looks more to accuracy rather than attempting to improve visuals then try Xebra, though might be slow as it doesn't use extra tricks or hacks to get any speed boosts.

Really when I set Scale2x streching games have a pixelated graphics
But when I set this colin mcrae rally 2.0 it´s doing FPS drops too on Soft plugin when I set stretch to the window size graphics are blurred but working without FPS drops
And in settings of Soft plugin is saying Scale2x stretching (needs a fast cpu)
So I think I need a better CPU because I have only 2.40 GHZ as I say up there and this is slow for better PSX emulation or for emulation of N64 or PS2 :/

Try ePSXe 1.5.2 or 1.6.0 instead ePSXe can run on much slower CPU's than what you are using, again I don't know why you emulate at all and just use your PS1/PS2 Chipped or even your Xbox Softmodded (via emulation, no burning needed), playing on a PSP I can understand due to lack of controls

You could possibly even use your PS3

Yeah I´m play PSX games on PS3 but now my HDD in PS3 not working and I must buy new one and next problem is that I have sometimes in some PSX games graphical glitches on PS3 but I think this can be resolved
And on PS2 I can´t play PSX games because when I put PSX game to my PS2 the sounds in the games is changed for example when I shooting the sound of shooting have a sound of walking or vice versa
On my real PSX is a problem that when I resolving that twitching in cutscenes of Resident Evil 2 and calibrating POT of laser now when I put a game to the PSX game doesn´t read PSX kick me to the menu and that´s everything so maybe I break my laser If you can help me how I can repair that laser I am very appreciated

Use the xbox to emulate PSX then

Atleast with emulators on the xbox they are optimized for the exact hardware where as PC emulators tend not to be optimized for certain hardware and can have various results for each user, saying that I do use a PS2 controller with my xbox, never did like the xbox controllers

Depending on the controls the PSP does a good job also, but if the game supports analog only or has analog features you can't use those plus there is a lack of basic buttons also if said game uses all 4 back triggers the PSP only has 2 plus the others can be setup to the D-pad or Stick that kinda sucks, works ok for some games though.

Can't say I have tested this game on my xbox though due to finding the game a bit dull personally, never did like it and got that on the day of release, silly me.

2.4GHz is plenty for PSX emulation. Even in full software rendering mode. With regard to your original question bladesoft horribly abuses the render pipeline in such a way slowdowns have been reported in all sorts of games even in all-out, well-specced machines. I'm afraid short of edgbla open sourcing the plugin and/or fixing the source of the problem you'll have to make do with software rendering or as Zorlon said play on a proper machine. Or a TV.

This thread is making me miss Bleem!...

Connetix VGS (Virtual Game Station) was better very little or just no bugs with the games that worked with it

As it happens I have a Bleem! CD still myself, I'm sure I have a backup of it also, that was near impossible to make at the time, I'm sure I could do that again if I no longer have that backup though it just takes a bit of time (a day or so) due to the way they created the disc and the way to rip it fully/correctly. (actually not that sure as I used CDRWIN back in the day to rip with and not sure that would work on my laptop)

Actually if the game works with VGS that emulator is well worth a try though it might be a bit of pain getting to work on a newer OS that was aimed at Windows 98 if I remember correctly and you would need to set up a virtual CD-Rom drive.

I think we have CVGS/VGS on the main site cracked, not looked in ages though and even longer at using that emu (We don't really support cracked software but this is old software)

It has very low end requirements has no enhancements or anything like that, the biggest downside is that it does not support analog at all, at the time that was made there was no Analog games anyway (maybe a few at the end of the emulators life before Sony put them out of business, much like they done with Bleem!)

I used VGS on a 386 (I forget how fast that was, I would of been less than 1Ghz though closer to 768 or even 512) with Windows 2000 [VGS needed patching to work with 2K if I remember correctly] (used both with a good graphics card and a rubbish basic one and worked just as good with both) about 256MB of mem that was ok back then, enough for most things, later I had 512MB but to be honest didn't notice the difference in much, some software worked better but most thing ran no differently at the time.

EDIT yups we still have VGS at http://www.emuparadise.me/Sony_Plays...tors/Windows/2 (it's the very last one listed)

    EDIT again

Can't get that working in Windows 7, possibly via an x86 emulator with XP installed like Virtual PC (owned by Microsoft originally by the same team that made CVGS and free for Windows Vista/7/8 Pro/Enterprise users and comes with XP) or Oracle VM VirtualBox that is free for everyone to use but you provide the OS for it Windows 98 if you like
