The original would imply there's anything non-derivative about it. I mean, for god's sake, you start out as a simple farmer whose village gets destroyed by... whatever the hell the evil army of the game was named, following which in a quest for revenge or something you become the stalwart hero of the land.

I like good storytelling, and Dungeon Siege I did not have it.

Yeah second Dungeon Siege was better. The first was ok but it lacked cohesion. It was just an open random mess. As I remember though it has been a very long time since I played it.
