The anime is better than the manga. Way better action scenes, and the order of events in the beginning makes a lot more sense in the anime. I read the manga only because it is ahead, and I like knowing stuff

To clarify, it just seemed like the story was basically, okay now the main dude can transform into a titan, so they're gonna do 6134635 battles and beat them like that, some characters may or may not die for shock value just didn't seem very interesting to me. Generic "main hero has unique superpower" thing you see everywhere.

Story way improves after that. There is a lot of filler/talking involved with several episodes, but it eventually becomes one major clusterfuck, it's awesome

I only read the first 4-5 volumes of the manga. It might get better later. Or not.
