Pokemon and Final Fantasy.
Phantasy Star 1 to 4 Mastersystem to Megadrive/Genesis (these mostly follow on from each other)
Shining Force 1 to 2 and Shining Force 3 Scenerio 1 to 3 Megadrive to Saturn (each's has it's own story but they are linked in one way or another all of Shining Force 3 is linked and saves can be passed onto the next scenerio even to a bonus Premium CD)
Lunar Eternal Blue & Lunar The Silver Star Sega CD or PSX (updated on PSX) (These two games do link to each other but not directly so can be played in any order)
Breath of Fire 1 to 5 SNES to PSX to PS2 (They all tell the same story just about I do like 3 plus 4 the best both on PSX)
Chrono Trigger SNES or PSX (This game has a ton of ending depending on how well you do in this)
EarthBound SNES (A good solid game)
Super Mario RPG SNES (I did like this one, it has a nice little battle engine, Paper Mario started with game kind of)
Star Ocean SNES (Pure brilliant)
Tales of Phantasia SNES, think this is improved on the PSX aswell... (Great RPG)
Beyond the Beyond PSX (Another great RPG uses a system very close to Shining Force, though on a smaller scale)
Chrono Cross PSX (A follow up to the original Chrono Trigger but for me not as good)
Grandia 1 to 3 plus Xtreme PSX to PS2 (Like the Final Fantasy games each has it's own unrelated story, I love these games 2 the most though)
Parasite Eve PSX (Nothing to dislike here a servival Horror with an RPG system)
Star Ocean: The Second Story PSX (A great followup to an already great RPG)
Suikoden 1 to 5 PSX to PS2 (Another set I loved, you can even pass save data from one game to another with the exception of 5)
Xenogears PSX (Loved it)
XenoSaga parts 1 to 3 PS2 (also loved this follow up story also each part can pass the save onto the next game)
There are a just a select few to get you started there are lots more though even just on the few systems I mentioned
A bonus game
Castlevania Symphony of the Night PSX (A Platform game with a RPG leveling system, I loved this game and I was never a big fan of platform games)

I'll second Star Ocean 2 - it's one of my all time faves. Still haven't gotten all 80+ endings
If you have the means I'd recommend the psp version.
@SuperMew98
Do you have modded consoles/flash kits? if so I could list games for those systems as well, I have played the odd RPG in my time (I say modestly)
Or do you just want games you can emulate on a PC? then I will stick just to systems than can be emulated (well I think I listed enough to keep you going for some time anyway)
EDIT: do you have any consoles? if so let us know what they are some of the consoles can be modded without too much effort by software![]()

i would like to know some psp games that i could play,it doesnt matter the genre.
Thanks to all who contributed! Especially Zorlon.
@ Zorlon
Thanks for all the RPGs conveniently organized, and the only console I have modded is my Wii. If you could list both games that can be emulated on a PC and games that can be emulated on a softmodded Wii, that would be great.

The Wii can play
GBA via emulation, that has tons of RPGs,
The Golden Sun games
Shining Force (not just updated graphics either, there is lots of extra game play added),
Final Fantasy 1 & 2 (extra's including a new story line and a couple of extra dungeons, as well as the updated graphics)
SNES both via VC and Emulation, list a few for that system
Megadrive/Genesis via both Emulation & VC, listed a few for that system
PSX is emulated but I never did check it out, Suikoden 1 & 2 might be ok on the Wii though, they are well worth playing
GB and GBC are also playable, there are a couple of good games on those systems but not that many
SMS and NES are emulated and via VC
Can't say I use my Wii that often though well not at the moment at least, but as far as emulation goes I only used it mostly for lightgun games
Xbox can be soft modded easy enough, the best system to emulate other consoles on, best to give it a bigger HDD
Dreamcast does not need to be modded, just a great console to start will, has limited support for emulation
PSP can be soft modded easy enough, supports PSX and is great for 16bit and under emulation
Wii can be soft modded easy enough as you will know, already outlined what it can play
PS2 can be soft modded easy enough, runs patched PS2 DVD's with no swap trick and has limited emulation support (more limited than the Dreamcast)
Saturn.. a swap trick works fine, but it is hard to explain how it works, this is only for playing saturn games realy
DS systems can play both GBA and DS via a flash kit for both slot 1 and slot 2, there are also some perfect 8 bit emulators for DS including NES GB/GBC SMS and GameGear, 16 bit emulators are ok aswell Genesis and SNES but some games do have issues and the screen is not big enough to handle SNES or Genesis correctly
DSi & 3DS (they don't have a GBA slot) can play DS games via a flash kit, the more powerful kits can play GBA as well via emulation & beter SNES emulation, all DS emulation also works on those (you can't play DSi or 3DS games via a flash kit though)

So, I'm a huge Monster Rancher buff and have dumped well over a thousand hours into the various games over the years, perhaps more than I care to admit. Beaten every Pokemon game released to date, along with Dragon Quest Joker (2): Monster. Dumped around 400 hours into each of those...
Being as I'm really not all that interested in yet another Pokemon game, I was getting curious:
Does anyone else know of a game (or series of games) that fall into this line?
Played several of the Digimon games, but they vary so much from game to game it's hard to really group all of them into this genre for me. Beat a couple of them though... Also, not entirely sure this is the place to ask, but it made more sense than the other forums I saw on the board.![]()
I want to find some decent gamecube games after recently completing Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes
I have already played all the cliché titles that are good but I want something different
Nothing like smash bros, sunshine,
And no RPGs not that I dislike them, just not enough time
I thought of getting eternal darkness but what do you think?
I'd reccommend GTA V. A great game. Very big and many vehicles to drive.
Hello, I'm looking for PS2 action games that I can play via PCSX2. Already checked:
1. Resident Evil 4
2. DMC series
3. God of War series
4. Timesplitters series
5. Dirge of Cerberus (but it works too slow)
I'm more interested in shooters than slashers.
__
Btw. can I emulate The 3rd Birthday on PC?
My PC is ok but I see that JPCSP still have problem with X360 pad support so I will wait for next revisions anyway. Black is amazing but it doesn't work on PCSX2.
