You actually can play SNES on your DS/3DS with SnemulDS, it's a little slow with some games but Super Mario World & the Donkey Kong games run decent with a few graphics problems. I also hear the SCDS2 is not that good for homebrew so the R4i Gold 3DS has higher compatibility if that's what you want it for.
