In all honesty though, I usually have trouble expressing my hatred of Final Fantasy XIII, so I'll not do so and just say "It's a horrendous piece of crap, why do that to yourself?"

Why waste colossal amounts of time on a game that, essentially, doesn't really reward you for the preposterous amount of effort? "Yay, a platinum trophy. I could've 100%'d about 17 games in the time it took me to get THIS son of a bitch, but yay trophy."

Honest-to-God trophy hunters find huge reward in possessing the trophies, and less reward out of the journey to getting them. I've put up with some crap mechanics to get some s, but in the long run I'm just as happy with myself when I'm finished. It can also help break up the monotony of some of the really large games -- I'm not grinding for 40 hours to level up my character, I'm grinding for 10 hours to get this item, 10 hours to get that item, 15 hours to get this last item, and 5 hours to level up my character.

Hmph. Everyone's a bloody critic.
