And Plus games are yours for as long as you are a subscriber. Once it's over, you can't play them. You recover them if you re-subscribe.

There is not point unless you get a BC one honestly. Otherwise you just take more risk in it freezing. Regular slims are fine.

@Stark: Most of the people I've spoken with that bought a super slim have said it's good and they have not encountered problems. It's still early though. I'd say whatever model is the best deal.

I was thinking this one uncharted bundle which comes with psn+ for a year (I think, I looked at a bunch) and looked decent and if the trend follows last year everything should be around 50 bucks off on Boxing day. So what is up with PSN+ is it sort of like gold for 360 then?

Basically, it consists of free games for PS3 and Vita and discounts. Since playing online is still free, it's much, much better than Gold.

I haven't been paying attention to the bundles, but it's probably a free 30 days of PS+. Plus gives you the occasional discount on games (I've picked up a few that were $3-$5 off, etc), and gives free games at least every couple of weeks. The quality of said games varies, but there's always something free to be grabbed at any given time, plus a few that seem to be on there permanently (can't remember all of those right now, but I know Infamous 2 and LBP2 are still up for free download).

Plus and Gold are completely different beings, really. Plus isn't required to enjoy any of the other features of PSN, it just gives you discounts, the occasional early access, and the occasional free game. It's more like a loyalty program than a perks/services program.
