hi

when i was little (im 19 now) i played a game that was 2D and at the start you had to choose a door to enter a stage(a platformer i think) and to unlock other doors (cant remember whether it was collecting something or just completing a stage that unlocked the level)

Umm maybe Kirby Adventures for the NES?
