so, what happened with the PS2 Slim that made it so infamous? google give me one answer from one place and the opposite from the other. anyone have an easy method of soft-modding a PS2? they all are hardmods what i find
oh, and the SEGA forums database has crashed
i meant to say the SEGA forums database has crashed, AGAIN!
I could really do with a large ham and cheese sandwich right about now
Yea they closed the DVD Playback Driver exploit in that too I think the last generation of Fat PS2 came out after the 7 Series Slim and thats why it got the Fix also.
How the exploit worked was the original 1st generation Japanese PS2's always came with a memory card as the PS2 was designed at that time to load the DVD Player Driver off the memory card rather than in the PS2 itself, Sony fixed this before release elsewhere (and as such you never got a free memory card) and the 2nd Gen Japanese PS2's however they never stopped the PS2 from looking at the memory card at boot up for the Driver in the PS2's themselves(AKA It always checked the memory card before it checked itself). Sony Dun Goofed with that one and it was later exploited into as we know now "Free MC Boot"

Ahh, that makes sense. I figured they stopped manufacturing new models of the fat PS2s as soon as the slims were released.
