Frontier - Elite 2
I missed the first Elite on account of being a toddler when it was released, however i got to grips with Elite 2 on the Amiga and it was one of the toughest games i ever tackled, both because of the size and complexity of the game and also the fact i was still pretty young when i was playing it.
I see things you people wouldnt believe...
I'm finding Vagrant Story to have a pretty steep learning curve atm but I'm still enjoying it.
Rayman
Demon and Dark Souls.
Zelda II, The Adventure of Link.
'Nuff said.
It took me at least 20 tries to finally beat the first boss in zelda 2.
Yeah Zelda 2 is a bitch.
Majora's Mask is only surpassed by Zelda 2 barely. first off, Majora's Mask has a chance of being beaten, wheras i'm pretty sure Zelda 2 is only one dungeon and a few towns designed to kill you ASAP.
I always heard from friends how hard Majora's Mask was when I was younger. I actually found Ocarina to be harder to complete than Majora's Mask when I eventually played both myself. I know that is definitely an uncommon opinion but oh well.
Gannondorf was pretty hard the first couple of game beats around, but after the third it just got easier to complete the game for me.
wait a minute, i just found my case of old LCD games, and SeGa Allstars Racing McD's LCD version is in there. not only is the game hard as hell, but it also dies as soon as you win, or something. most and of those LCD things are hard.

This is kinda of a hard one. But I'm gonna say Zelda II. It has got to be one of the hardest games I have played. Although Dark Cloud 2 could give it a run for it's money.
Double Dragon II, 2-player mode A supreme master difficulty played the old-fashion way with the actual Double dragon II: The Revenge game cartridge and Nintendo Entertainment System, not emulated or ported. Still haven't beaten the game with both players survive defeating the final boss, closest I ever got was killing the shadow clones but only had enough hp to survive more than 3 hits from final boss.
Drakensang River of Time, was kind of poorly coded and the combat system was literally INSANELY hard to pull off right which made even a normal encounter a epic boss fight. Hard difficulty made me want to kill baby puppies with my mind by the time I was done. I went to dragon age after this game and even on hard+ I didn't get that p***** off and thats saying something lol.
Iv'e beaten every Zelda game to date but Majora's Mask gave me the most trouble. I literally was stuck on a part for 2 years! I was stuck in the Ice dungeon with the giant pillar in the middle, by the Goron village. I got so pissed trying to figure it out one day I just started punching the crap outta everything with the Goron. Then I ended up punching one of the ice blocks that made up part of the pillar and my jaw hit the fuckin floor as it slid out and broke, clearing the way for me to roll across.
And with Zelda games I refuse to cheat/use a walk through.
