Walt's reaction to Jesse's plan to dissolve the first corpse was rather hilarious. As was Jesse's eventual reaction to why that was such a terrible idea.

Yeah, I know. I just remembered it taking a little longer to get into the really brutal stuff, rather than acid in the bathtub from the off. Then again, I suppose the pilot has Walt suffocating two people with phosphine gas.

The first series is sort of darkly comic because Walt and Jesse... so aren't the hardened criminals they're trying to be. By the later series, the things they've done have turned Jesse into a bit of a wreck and Walt into... well... Satan. Not so funny anymore.

They take a vacation for the most part once the bodies are out of the way. Then it's all fun times until Tuco gets into it. And even then, Tuco-era did get a couple of jokes in there.

I guess if you pretend really really hard, you eventually become what you're pretending to be. Which is probably the greatest tragedy of Walt. If he stuck to his initial plan of being a teacher who cooks on the side, none of this would have happened. But then Jesse had to go and screw everything up. :wacko;

I think i read it they did it because the viewer number was dropping and they didn't know if a fulll season was going to make or loss money. So they did it as a test.
