It does make sense, and it is one of the reasons that I decided to respond to all of these posts. While not everyone who joins the forums contributes in the sense of content of aid to other members, you all contribute in some form or another (even if it's only for others to point and laugh). I guess I've also kicked into dad mode right now and feel like defusing situations before things get out of hand, and last time this all happened (chat incident), I snapped at a regular when I really shouldn't have. I'm attempting to learn from that mistake, even if I have no formal power anymore.
I'm too nice for my own good.I've been backreading everything instead of playing games because for some reason I felt like intervening and explaining, possibly to avoid the same backlash as what happened with the chat thing.
It happens. There are a lot of people who post in the regular forums (not just HO, but everywhere) that I generally am not interested in talking to, either through uncommon interests or a dislike of personality or both. In the end, I'm a wall of text being generated by someone on the other side of the world for a lot of you, and at the very least the other side of the continent for most, so I really don't expect anyone to take what I say seriously on a regular basis.
Retro has always been hit or miss. When I first gained access (God, was that back in '03...?!), it was a fairly dead forum with only a couple of posts a day. Then there would be days without posts. Then random surges of activity when someone tried to revive it, then nothing.
I really wish I had been here for Chen, though.![]()
