You really should. I think it would decrease your fears of a diminished product from a strict timetable.
Granted, Brotherhood isn't anywhere near as good as ACII, but it's still a damn fine game that manages to improve upon the formula. It could probably have used another 6 months or so in the oven, but it's still a hearty meal of assassination.
