Truly? I feel that, in any ultimate assessment of a wide range of sentences, feel that there are examples of lengthy and verbose sentences, frequently involving the profligate use of prepositional clauses and other subordinate grammatical constructs daisy-chained together into an illegible morass, that could be considered to rival or exceed the longest sentence in that post: in this example, the extension by using an appositive independent clause (this very one, as a matter of fact, though one can be excused for not necessarily understanding grammatical terminology that rarely occurs in practical usage) to extend the sentence far beyond meaningfully practical bounds, and thus serves primarily as an artificial construct that merely demonstrates that the use of rigorously proper grammar, in and of itself, does not necessarily promote the practical functions of language (i.e. to facilitate ease of effective and efficacious communication in a conventional context), but rather promotes lexical ambiguity; ultimately, however, such use of these artifices does promote a certain degree of amusement, and in serving in such an example, itself communicates the fundamental ideal inherent to the conventional use of grammar, wherein while promulgating a set of rigorous strictures and dictates in order to restrict potential arbitrary and acoherent usage of language permits a certain vernacular standard of linguistic and syntactic layouts and structuring that can be taken as a functional baseline from which effective communication can be derived and maintained, the dogmatic adherence to such stringent syntactic specifications outside of a purely axiomatic context from whence such standards were originally codified would, rather than promoting vernacular comprehension, contrariwise simply serve to obfuscate and confuse the fundamental issues at hand - this, I must hasten to add, does not necessarily mean that the entire extent of this sentence must be taken to serve as rigorously grammatical and syntactically appropriate in every particular, if only for the sole reason that such a monstrosity, were it to exist in any context outside of the particular circumstance that has led up to this (which is to say, as a ludicrous and hyperbolic reply to a passing comment), would be taken out into the street and shot by any self-respecting grammatical expert.

And I think it's time for me to go nighty-bye.

Interesting. I just dropped by their site, and NNL actually did make it big with minori at some point after that.
I'm currently unsure what the hell they're playing at.

Their response to the various incidents like what I mentioned previously was to harass the shit out of them and advise people against supporting that sort of behaviour.

When Minori blocked foriegn IPs, NNL blocked all japanese traffic to their site.

They're repeatedly pointed out that Minori makes really shit games and that they only translate them because "OOH, PRETTY".

They hosted not just a patch, but the entire games themselves. Their reasoning was "come on, who are we kidding here? We're all filthy goddamn pirates"

When C&D's came about. they effectively wiped their asses with them with their official statement back being something akin to "come at me, bro".

Then they turn the other cheek and begin praising the same sort of thing they said was a blight on the "community" and have begun campaigning heavily in the other direction. Frequently condemning previous members for the strangest of reasons.

Apparently they decided the only way they'd license officially would be if someone met their insane list of demands. Hookers and blow and all. Somehow it happens.

Then they went about leaking the full retail version of EF that nobody even thought about prepping for retail yet. Hilariously it's the exact same product as it was when they hosted it. minus their blatant trolling attempts in-game. Then redacted in an attempt to play it as one of those frequent "rogue member leaks patch" things that have been happening all over since this sort of thing became common.

I'm not sure whether to applaud them or question their sanity. It's like watching some sort of bizarre LARP with parody. Except it's being taken completely seriously by a large japanese corporation and a respected novel publisher.

    My brain hurts.

Wow. I stopped paying attention to them after the support disc fiasco, so I seem to have missed a lot. That is...holy devil, but that's just insane. I know that brilliance is frequently indistinguishable from very successful insanity, but even so...

    I'm rather excited myself.

I never had any problems with any Bethesda games in the past.

The whole "support disc" fiasco was apparently them trying to satirize everyone's attempts to legitimize fan translations by requiring a "retail product".

They're clearly in favor of piracy as was evidenced by everything they've done since the early phases of Wind's release.

    So that one's easy.

But I have no idea what is to be gained by having their translator flown out to Japan to negotiate in person.

Aside from the obvious "free trip to japan".

    ...

I refuse to think any more on this on the grounds that "holy fuck. GIP is out of his goddamn nut"

Although massive points for limiting the translation to one font.

    Comic Goddamn Sans.

I think I like their style.

    Maybe.

I'm non committal until I see what's actually going to happen.

That's fortunate. I was mostly being just tongue-in-cheek, and I expect it will be somewhat fun even out of the box. Bethesda may have a reputation for buggy games, but they do tend to be built on a solid framework for gameplay and modification. Ah, well; I'll probably hold off until the inevitable GOTY version myself, or wait even further. I never did pick up Fallout 3 or Oblivion in the end, either.

No use in holding off when you're not paying for it.

Sounds like a plan. First, we need to get a crack team of ace drivers and specialists together...

    *looks up*

And so Drew takes out a camera. With a hat. Hunh, wouldn't have thought the cameras would be that easy to knock down.

    Those things move very easily.

It's how cameramen are able to get those awesome shots.

Makes them easy to tip though.
