Add to this the rubbing that occurs when moving in footwear as well as many people's tendency to sit in a manner that decreases circulation to the legs (blame all those school assemblies that required you to sit on your feet/with your knees in the air). It's just that most people don't consider foot hair that big of a deal to lose. In that case you're wearing several layers of tight clothing that are putting constant tight pressure on the skin. If your hat is as tight as your socks are, it might be an issue. But I'm sure you'd experience discomfort long before the hair would drop off.

That's a weird coincidence. Men naturally tend to lose hair near where they'd wear a hat anyway. Few men ever lose it in the center (at least right away), with most having a "horseshoe" pattern of hair loss, where it draws back near the ears and temples while the center remains normal or recedes later. In reality, if there were a connection you'd be losing it in a halo pattern running along the entire perimeter of your head. Also, thinning of the hair naturally happens with age (and for both genders!). That does include body hair and losing some thickness off your head (especially noticeable if you have excessively thick hair). So it's not just baldness, it's your impending death. Have fun!
