In other news, I started a new party in Wizardry, because I'll probably go against my better judgement and unlock the rest of the game tonight. Even though doing so is completely silly, when I have a collection of similar games on the DS, a Wizardry game for the PS2, and I could always download at least some if not all of the other ones as abandonware.

I might get rather close to that 200 hours of gameplay trophy just by repeatedly rerolling bonuses about a million times.

Certainly the only one who'd say it about this Deathwatch campaign. Its wrongness cannot be described.
I meant Space Marine, as I know nothing of your Deathwatch Campaign other than you having a really nice character whom I believe you said is really good at driving.

    Though I am likely wrong.

Honestly, you're kinda SOL on the original games. Well, unless you use the translated rom of the SNES version of the first three games that was released inn Japan because Japan loves the shit out of Wizardry.

But like, 4-6 are a clusterfuck especially if you emulating the DOS/Apple whatever versions, mostly because they have that old copy protection from the early eighties, and I can't fucking find a scan of transcript of those anywhere.

Also, Tell me how the PS2 game is, as I've been contemplating buying it.

From where? Don't worry about it.

Well, he's nice compared to the rest of them. The lineup is thus:

Blackshield Tacmarine formerly of the Night Lords - and about as useful outside of combat as a rattlesnake on PCP. Only slightly more useful in combat.
Space Wolf Scout/Skald (tacmarine) - the defacto leader and the most overblownly flamboyant scout you have ever had the misfortune to meet.
Imperial Fist Apothecary - the closest thing to a sane man. Probably not for much longer, the constant facepalming has got him fidgeting with his mortuary tools far more than is healthy.
White Scars Techmarine - a Kult of Speed mekboy in power armour, when you get right down to it.

Together, they try and be more of a threat to the enemy than they are to eachother. Even if the Blackshield has now been permanently christened Brother Bacon due to an unfortunate encounter with an unhappy psyker/hive tyrant mashup.

Wizardry 7 isn't hard to get hold of for the PC.

Well, that makes me feel a little better about the other Wizardries, but not so much about the two or three Etrian Odysseys or the Dark Spire that're languishing on my flash cart.

I don't believe I ever actually finished the PS2 game, and it's been ages since I played it at all, but I was addicted to it for a couple of weeks, at least. I remember that the movement was less jerky if you were running, and it was less obvious that you were moving step by step along a grid. The enemies were also visible, you could attempt to avoid them if they hadn't noticed you, otherwise they'd attack. Enemies weren't static sprites like they are in this one, and my party was mostly composed of NPCs involved somehow in the story, if I'm not mistaken, rather than randomly generated characters.

But none of that will really help you decide whether or not you want to play it, I'd imagine.

Oh, I doubt the tyrranids will even remember that. Unless he also tastes like bacon. Then you're slightly more fucked. But you're space marines! You'll be fine. Or die tying.

He does. Got barbequed into critical damage and ended up with an 8 on the energy table - chargrilled long pig.

On the plus side, his (permanently halved) fellowship now matches his general approach.

Stayed up super late playing games. It's nice to know that I can still do this, from time to time. <3

Ivolt is always nice. Except when he's wishing death upon you and your family. Which is about 3/4 of the time. But for the other 1/4, he's really nice.
