Another one that Atlus published that is very similar to EO is Class of Heroes. Although that's for the PSP.

Another good dungeon-crawler, is for the Sega Genesis, and goes by the name of Shining in the Darkness. It has really detailed sprites for the time, although they're static sprites. As well as being the beginning of Sega's "Shining" series of games. Also it lacks an automap and instead has a map spell. Which definitely adds to the overall difficulty, unless you have your graph paper handy.
I played Shining in the Darkness when we had a Genesis. I never finished it then, but I imagine that's because I was about five and I wasn't very good at video games. I also really like D& Warriors of the Eternal Sun, which had a bird's eye view perspective on the overworld, but a first person dungeon crawler view in the caves and dungeons and such. Finally beat that at one point with the past few years using an emulator.

Particularly the title screen and the map music. I will remember those fondly for pretty much ever. (I'm sure there are some much more interesting tracks, but those are the most familiar/nostalgic to me. Probably because I died constantly. )

The first couple of minutes look familiar, I must have just gotten distracted and never had a chance to go back to it.

Not quite what I was looking for, but still better than what I was using.

    Thanks.

Also, what's with all of the assholes on eBay charging exuberant amounts for shipping? It doesn't cost $25 to ship an NES game across Canada, I'm sorry.

I remember my dad and I both playing SitD a long time ago. The only reason he kept pace with me was because he was using my maps.

That one's a classic, I'm pretty sure I beat it long ago, but I can't remember how it ends. I still have it CIB if anyone wants it.

I have a Genesis if anyone needs one, as well. I don't have any games for it.

Most of my systems are like that. I'm giving some serious considering to selling my Super NES, Genesis, and Gamecube. I can't remember the last time I played them.

11 minutes left on my demo download.

Let's hope this isn't one of those demos that I spend longer waiting for than I can actually playing it.
