I doubt I'll ever read the series. I've been meaning to pick up the Xanth books; I keep forgetting about them when I go to the bookstore .

Yeah, he died a few years back. Apparently he had extensive notes left behind of exactly what he wanted to happen, and Brandon Sanderson was approached by Jordan's widow to finish the series. The later books are... pretty good. You can tell it's someone else writing them, but he stays fairly faithful to all of the characters mannerisms and whatnot.
I like the books, Salvatore is a solid author, I just like the variety of the other books.

I found the Xanth books very amusing. Even though I've read up to the fourth or fifth book, I need to start from the beginning. It's been years.

Salvatore was always one of my favourites, but I enjoyed his Demon Wars Saga more. Even if it was terribly predictable and clichéd.

The Pools Trilogy is what comes to mind when someone says 'typical fantasy'. It still easily takes top spot for my favorite FR series. Predictability and clichés don't matter much when something is awesome .

Never read that one. In all honesty, I lost the heart for fantasy novels after everything started to sound the same.

I'm just over a third of the way through Uncharted 2, and then I can put it away for a little bit with a brand new
Perhaps I'll finish LBP after that... or start on the first Uncharted.
    Not entirely sure which yet.

    Ah.

As long as it isn't 'low' fantasy, I enjoy it... usually. I try to not read a whole lot so I can afford to buy games.
