A lot of people seem to be under the impression that the Dark Elf books are their own little fantasy world though.
But he writes such truth! And there are notations and everything! It's totally reals, yo'!
Seriously... just treat it like any work of fiction, people.
Seriously...
Dark Elf books as in the Salvatore ones (Drizzt Do'urden, or however his name was spelled), or are there other ones that I have forgotten?
True. But they are still mildly entertaining. It's just the waiting between books that has driven me insane. I think the last book in the series is going to be published earlyish next year, though (or at least, that's the tentative release date that I've heard), so hopefully I can stop re-reading the series now just to try and remember everything.![]()
Yeah. The Dark Elf series was good (and, really, lots of Salvatore's novels based around Drizzt were decent), but there are definitely other, better books in FR.
Yeah, he died a few years back. Apparently he had extensive notes left behind of exactly what he wanted to happen, and Brandon Sanderson was approached by Jordan's widow to finish the series. The later books are... pretty good. You can tell it's someone else writing them, but he stays fairly faithful to all of the characters mannerisms and whatnot.
