It doesn't seem like there will be too much in terms of invisible walls, and the achievement popups can probably be disabled. Agreed that the "Reload" is a bit annoying. But it's not supposed to focus on ranged weapons, anyways.Other than that, it doesn't seem too terribly obscuring.
So, Moon Diver anyone?
Actually, I hold off on that till Tan posts in the thread, because that means he's actually "here"
Between the radar, the health bar, the stamina bar, the acheivement popup, weapon durability/type/ammo, the numbers, and any icons will take up a good chunk of the screen (I'd say about 1/3). And then there's the strawberry jam. Check out 1:42.
It's like, let's make a beautiful setting then hide it behind the user interface!
Still, the concept of a 4 player borderlands knockoff with zombies set in a unique location with a 25+ hour story mode campaign and plenty of room for exploration and looting in the style of the recent Fallouts does sound pretty interesting. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't giving serious consideration to this.![]()
It's not, but I don't quite see why it must be in the center of the screen. That clip shows bits from a roughly 20-30 minute preview that was released a couple weeks back. That stamina bar is onscreen almost the entire time, since it's central to combat. I think the only part where it wasn't onscreen was during the hub bits (where help text filled in for that bar) or the one time firearms were used (which was stated as being something that was incredibly limited in this game)
Yargh, eventually. If tan shows. I guess.
Nah, that's health, I believe. The stamina bar is the blue one in the lower-middle of the screen. Like, right below where your swings generally hit.
It's probably in the center of the screen because it's such a big deal. If you get tunnel vision, you need to be able to see it and your target at the same time, arguably moreso than health. But it would be nice if they made it movable. A fully customizable HUD would just be great, but it's probably too much to ask.
