Update to 6.20 or 6.36 and download the games in the psp section that are marked [OFW] thats the easiest way

Other way is to use a Pandora Battery on it with a Magic Memory Stick and flash it with custom firmware

Update to 6.36 to play games signed for Official Firmware. If you only bought the PSP recently, it is most likely NOT compatible with Custom Firmware.

It seems that recent developments in the PSP Custom Firmware scene have given the users of ALL model PSPs the ability to install CFW.
    http://www.psp-hacks.com/2011/04/20/...o-b5-released/

That should help. By installing that, you can play any PSP game from memory stick including PSX-PSP games.

Is that 2000 model you referring to? If yes there are various ways to play downloaded games on it, either through OFW or CFW.

For OFW, just download the signed games, and you can play the game straight through from your PSP, but your PSP needs to be on the same firmware the game was signed to.
as for CFW, which I recommend, It was not really that complicated to install, if you follow the right guide.

Since yours is on 6.20, you don't have to update, you can either use PRO CFW, or just the simple TN-HEN with ISO Loader.
    PRO CFW :
    - Download the PRO-B5.
    - Copy 620PRO_Permanent, FastRecovery, and PROUPDATE into your PSP/GAME folder
    - Run PROUPDATE from your XMB, press X to install
    - After that, check your System Information, make sure it was on 6.20 PRO-B5
    - Now to make this custom firmware permanent, run 620PRO_Permanent.
    - When prompted to install press X
    - Test run the permanent patch by pressing X again, make sure not to delete the vshorig.prx
    - If the Test was successful(which you should return back to XMB with PRO-B5 still visible on your system information), run the 620PRO_Permanent again.
    - Now press X, and when prompted to run Test, press O
    - and now the CFW should be permanent now, try shutdown your PSP, reboot it, check whether the CFW is still there.
    - You may refer to this video as well.

    TN-HEN:
    - first, download this, and this.
    - place both folder on your PSP/GAME
    - Run TN-E from your XMB
    - Your PSP should be on 6.20 TN-E right now
    - To play games, place your ISO onto your ISO folder in the Memory stick, and then run Prometheus ISO Loader from XMB.

** remember that, TN-HEN is a Homebrew Enable(HEN) which means it is not permanent, and doesn't have internal iso loader with it, unlike the PRO or any CFW, but have its own TN menu integrated into the XMB.
** for comparison, both are good, but if you prefer to play ISO/CSO without much hassle, then I recommend you to use PRO instead of TN-HEN, well your choice.

All download links taken from PSH.

You have to put ISO/CSOs into the ISO folder, which should be located on the root of your memory card.

Yes, The 3rd Birthday should be an ISO.

If you don't have an ISO folder in the root of your Memory Card, then just make a new folder with your computer and name it ISO. Make sure it's in the root of your memory card.

100X or 200X you can just Pandora battery it to whatever firmware you like (The current firmware is irrelivent with this method)

You can either get a Pandora Battery/Battery Tool (There the same thing) or you can get a PSP Battery Service Tool that makes a normal Battery into a Pandora and back again

A 3rd Battery option is to cut your battery open and make a quick mod (not advised though)

I have a Battery Service Tool myself that supports both 100X & 200X models done a few PSP's with it now, makes things very simple provided you have a small well setup memstick pro (I used a small 512MB one for my hacking though you can use alot smaller)

Not my vid but this is a Service tool in action basicly changing a normal battery into a Battery Tool/Pandora Battery
