@ Inferno, I don't know if you've noticed yet, but Virgin Media have increased their free newsgroup retention from 10 to 30 days...

Interesting, but I only really use it to grab new releases anyway... Thanks for the info though.

You don't get it at all, unlike SOPHISTICATED and INTELLIGENT individuals such as myself.

Yeah, you've gotta love how the production team came out and admitted 99% of said symbolism has absolutely no relation to anything and was only included because Christianity is WOOO MYSTERIOUS over in Japan, yet there are still people determined to find hidden meaning in it. God bless the internet.

    JUST AS PLANNED.

The ending/leadup to the ending is most of the fun. It's also a wonderful example of a trainwreck. Except where EoE gets involved, and it just becomes a good example of nightmare fuel and badassery (somewhat for all the wrong reasons).

When I first watched Evangelion I binged through the series over a few days, skipped the episodes containing the original ending and went straight to EoE, by which point it was nearly 3am and I was almost passing out due to tiredness. It made the second half of the film... interesting, let's put it that way.

But even so, I'd never felt so depressed just from WATCHING something, holy fuck.

Basilisk pisses me off, it starts off with cool fight scenes, then it lands on Drama Island and never leaves .

Of course, part of that is because it was the production team that said it. The person who writes the stories and is responsible to said symbolism? No comment. Ever. Probably because he loves pissing off his fanbase.

Yes, I did. And there is a built in emulator of sorts already (PSX PSN games). I seem to recall people getting the PC PSX emulators to function via linux though (albeit using a simpler render method due to locked down features).

GOOD JOB SHINJI. Oh that ending. Although it was....interesting to see it reimagined as a stereotypical school life series. Eventually, they ran with it in videogame form. Hilarity ensued.

It's not all bad. Sooner or later organisms will come crawling out of that primordial ooze again, just like last time. Of course, by then shinji will be long dead, likely due to a murder-suicide.

It's an historical drama piece, what did you expect? Clearly people spent the entire sengoku era bitching at each other, especially near the end.

Except when those space wizards got their hands on those mechs and everyone became little girls.

*learns all of his japanese history from anime and videogames*
