Yep, I got an 88%, which is a B at least. I'm usually hovering around the line between a C and a B, which I think is 83 or 84.

I had a 4.0 GPA before I got into the nursing program. My transcript isn't going to be able to handle as much competition as it could before, by the time I'll be finished.

It's weird that you can score 88s and be hovering between Cs and Bs while I can score in the 70s and be a straight As student. :'D I scored an 84 in Chinese and a 93 in Japanese, but those are a bit more 'you're either right or you're wrong', and in essay-based subjects I've always been somewhere around 70-73, which I suppose is pretty much a 'don't even bother' grade there.

Aww. To be fair, gradually slipping grades are pretty much par the course the higher you get into education, so I doubt you're alone there. I remember seeing a Facebook group that was called 'Primary School: A+, Secondary School: B+, University: How many marks do I need to pass?'. Pretty much sums it up. :'D

Ugh, so I just found out that I'm scheduled to be trained in the new computer system at the hospital from 2:00-5:00pm on Monday. Luckily, my Monday clinical is canceled next week, otherwise I'd be in clinical from 6:30am-2:00pm, then training until 5:00, then walking home.

Quite weird, indeed. Usually, uni courses are graded on a ten point scale. For some reason the people in charge of my nursing program decided they wanted to use a 7 or 8 point scale (I can never remember which) instead. I'm used to it now, but it used to be the most frustrating thing in the world to get an 80 or a 90 and think for a moment that you scored better than you actually did.

I'm not worried about passing, but I would eventually like to go back to school. I'm only getting an associate's, and I'll need to get a bachelor's pretty soon, because it's already getting tough for ADNs to get jobs at places like the hospital I do my clinical work in. It's the competition to get into another program in the future that worries me, not so much how close I am to passing.

The training won't be a big deal, my school just sucks at coordinating things with the hospital. I'm sure there are other people with a Monday clinical that were not as fortunate as I am to have an instructor that canceled so he can go run a marathon instead.

But if you ask him, it's not "canceled." It's just been converted into an "independent study day."
