You should get that checked out, it doesn't sound normal at all and hopefully it's just an allergy, if not, I'd suppose it's gonna make some damage into your nose or something in the long run.

I finally bought a VGA adapter so I could use mine with my monitor, and I feel pretty meh about it. It's nice to not have the edges cut off, and to be able to read text, but the lower refresh rate compared to my CRT TV has been... noticeable.

Unless your monitor only supports green and black, the refresh rate should be the other way around.
