    Default Emulation on the Wii

Does anyone have any experience with Wii64? I'd like to set it up on my soft modded Wii and would like to hear some experience with it.

Also, do I need any sort of emulator if I want to play backups of GCN games? Or do I just get them, put them on my HDD and load them up like Wii games?

Wiis can only load Gamecube backups from DVD unless you've modded it with a WODE chip...

You're hoping to find a WODE in Gamestop?

Or you could try them on Dolphin PC Emulator and decide if there worth parting with cash for.

As for N64 games, emulation is crap. Virtual Console games are the way to go if you want to play N64 games. If you want to play SNES, NES, GB, etc, then you should emulate. From Experience.

GCN games can be played just fine if burned to DVD, you will need a homebrew or wad channel installed, there are plenty of GC loaders out there, a lil out of date to what is the best out there I havn't updated my GC loader for apx 2 years

If there is a VC version of any of the 64 games you are after, thats the way to go, there are a few injected versions aswell, but not looked at those personly, emulation is not as good as VC's

General Rule: If it's on virtual console, that's the way to go. SNES and NES might do well with emulation, but anything newer I wouldn't bother with. If you have a PC that's halfway decent you should be able to emulate n64 and psx games somewhat reliably. Mines crap for gaming and still does that. A lot of the games that can't be emulated on pc are on virtual console too. Also, apparently Nintendo has been periodically changing the disc drives used in production and the newer ones won't let you play backups on soft-modded consoles. Not sure about hard-modded consoles. It would be nice if you could play load gamecube games from a usb device, but sadly, this is not the case yet

Alright, so I've acquired OoT as a VC game. I've never installed/set up a VC game on my HDD with usb loader. With Wii games, I use Wii Game Manager, go through some options, and it creates a folder for me with the game ready to go. What do I do with VC games?

install the wad directly with a WAD manager

these go directly onto the wii as a new channel, not any external device

I appreciate your reply, and I know you're trying to help me, but I am not familiar at all with hacking/modding the Wii. I used a nifty program called ModMii, it did it all for me, I was way too lost to do or mess around with any of this.

Are you saying I need some kind of separate software?
