It's been done
First time, the tip is all slippery, you want me to put this in that hole of yours. Etc etc.
I don't believe there is. And probably.
Wouldn't surprise me. The writer is a fucking deviant. I've read his work. I was thoroughly "wait, you mean this guy was later responsible for diabetes in text form?"
Not that I know of. But the closest storyline to this written previously had the main character letting his friends gangrape the childhood friend character while he laughed maniacally. This was after a lengthy period of him being incredibly abusive. The PTSD she shows immediately after the incident was unsettling. And it had a happy ending. WHAT THE FUCK AM I READING.
If it turns out the person doing the hiring is a fan, you're probably guaranteed a job!
And that's what CTRL+F is for!
It's actually really simple. I could probably explain the whole process to you in a relatively short wall o' text. The general idea is: Break big file of text into several pairs of 2 chunks: formatting and script. Change script/have script changed. Turn 2 chunks into 1 chunk. Run game. And once I get the game displaying your text, you'll have plenty to show for your efforts.
(also, all of KEY's games, as well as the games of a few other companies use the same engine. KANON, CLANNAD, Tomoyo and Little Busters all use it. And all of those are either translated or being translated. A few of them are open projects with the design docs and such readily available to anyone that wants to take a crack at something similar. I had plenty of resources to go to.)
Yeah, that. Even I can MSPaint it up.
I know of those guys. I SINCERELY DOUBT there was a C&D. Especially since there's an ongoing TL project for not one, but TWO of KEY's more recent games ongoing that are easier to find, running on a site that japanese companies are well aware of, and they've not heard so much as a peep. One even released a patch a couple weeks ago for LB and LBE. And people are planning to tackle ReWrite soon. The people who tried previously pn Air were complete space cases and extreme amateurs. The majority of the translation was babelfished or done by someone who was neither a native english nor a native japanese speaker. Obviously there was a metric shitton of work to be done and the people involved were unreliable. Their only contribution to translations was a repackaging of someone else's work. Which was unstable as fuck. Also, a fake C&D is one of the oldest tricks in the book.![]()
