Also because I want to prove that I can. And a little bit because translating an entire visual novel on my own when I'm only in the second year of my course would look pretty sweet on my CV, and would probably be a decent thing to boast for scholarship applications.

The breaks seem to be pretty arbitrary. A lot of the files are really tiny, and then you have some huge ones that condense a massive amount of scenes into one file, 0180 being a prime example. Could be based on the day on the in-game timer, I guess? Pretty sure all the scenes in that one were from the first real day of the game. To be honest, it doesn't really bother me either way. If anything, it's better. I can whip through all the tiny files and then I'll feel good about only having a few left to go, even if it's just a placebo effect because they're all borderline novels in their own right.

Nah, you've done a lot already on your side of things. I need to pick up the pace. And let's face it, I don't play games very quickly, nevermind visual novels. You'd be waiting a long time. If I really need context for anything, I can always dig up the anime or watch a Japanese LP on NicoNico. I'll probably mail you whatever I've done in the way of complete files on a weekly basis or something, and you can do what you will with it. There's no rush, though. Translating is mutually compatible with my day to day life, being that it's actually good study. You're working on your free time.

Oh, early days yet, but anything in the way of image translation to do? It's been a while since I watched the opening sequence, but I think it had some quotes from the characters? And there's a little spiel right at the start that I'm pretty sure is stored as images rather than text (or if it's text I haven't come across it yet). We could try to recruit Danny for image editing?
Good plan. It's resume building.

I would guess so, but the files I skimmed both showed the 17th of July, which tends to be extremely short and the counter goes to the 18 after a few lines. But since the lines change depending on whether or not you've cleared the game, as well as what you've cleared that just makes it weirder. I prefer not to think about.

I haven't done shit. The process is largely automated and once I figure out how to remove the files and then put them back in my work is complete. I now have nothing to do as far as this project goes aside from turning the files into something the game can run. Which takes mere seconds. Plus I have abundant free time. So yeah.

There's some image files, but the bulk of them from what I can tell are rather short and easy to deal with (the ones in the intro are pretty much pure white. And that's assuming they're even really images anyway, since if they are images there's something going on to display them like text) It shouldn't be too hard. The other images with non english text consist of the calendar stuff, but that'd be mostly just making things fancier. I can get around to extracting the image files later if someone wants to take a look.

Also, sounds good on the weekly progress thing. I should be able to easily create some quick runnable patches for testing purposes, and since the format I'm using is very easy to modify I wouldn't have to do anything besides compile an individual SEEN file out of the .ke ant .utf to get it to run. SO LAZY.

I thought you were joking.

Well, carry on.
We mostly were. But as usual we take our jokes too far. Next thing you know I've got a version of AIR that can run modified script files and Ed has several scripts translated. At some point, we'll look back on this and laugh.

If anyone asks he only TL'd the non porn content. I can write something about molluscs and the like if I'm bored. Not like anyone reads these things for the porn anyway.
