Anonymous isn't targeting the followers at or, nor the religion itself. We have no issues with the people in the "Free Zone" practicing the religion without one of the Orgs. It's the actions of the churches themselves that we're concerned with.

Scientologist may have done some bad things over the years (or decades ago), but today innocent people are losing their lives because of a few "lynch-mob hackers".

They were annoyed to death from their site flooding repeatedly? They sent a virus that made someone's computer explode? Or maybe Anon. is so good they can make ninja stars fly out of your screen!

These people should get a better firewall... with virtual projectile protection.

As long as in the protests you only hand out fliers no attacking or scientology will examplify anonymous.

Unfortunately I can imagine a few people acting bad at the protest and it turning to crap, I hope not though.

Did you bother to look at the link? The one where people, not related to this, are having their personal information posted on the internet? Including Social Security numbers, home addresses and phone numbers, and credit card information?

Scammed or stolen? Whats the difference? Also, your love for anonymous is comparable to a scientologist love for the church. You listen to what they say (see: all your quoting), you promote their ideas (see: your posts). Also, if you've seen that guy one youtube (goes by the handle "mrfretch"), anyone who opposed anonymous gets hacked, and gets death threats (mostly from its youtube cultist).

See, you're an intelligent guy normally but it doesn't make sense that you'd pick at little details whilst ignoring all the facts and arguments people have presented thus far. I'm fairly sure you possess basic comprehension skills and I honestly can't understand why you'd come in and defend the CoS, especially after reading and hopefully finding alternate sources for all the information that's been linked in this thread. There are more than enough confirmed accounts floating around the net from former high ranking officials - Jesse Prince, for one - to lend these accusations credibility.

Most people (myself included) hold no ill towards the followers of Scientology and agree that people should be free to practice religion in any way they wish as long as they don't infringe upon the rights of others, but the higher-ups and the celebrities who actively promote the CoS should be downright ashamed of themselves. From day one the organisation was designed to ruin lives and take advantage of people. Whilst I don't even remotely agree with most of the guerilla tactics that Anonymous appears to have engaged in, at least Joe Average's attention is being drawn towards all these scandals that have been swept under the rug. If all this does is make people think carefully and do their research before before joining the CoS then it's served a purpose.

Errm, first off, I've addressed the arguements brought forward. I haven't denied that there is merit to some of them. BUT, I've pointed out that quite a few of these things have been prosecuted, and the perps brought to justice (see: Operation Snowflake and Freakout). What I've been trying to get at is this: Why the hell are you all supporting a vigilante group and trying to use crimes (that have been prosecuted and perps jailed)? Your basically approving of hacking, vigilantism (why don't you just support G. Bush why your at it?), and all sorts of illegal matters. Your also blindly following this group who's harmed (posting credit card information, Social Security numbers, home addresses, phone numbers) people who aren't even connected to Scientology!

Hey, your basically no different than the CoS! Your "anonymous" is committing many of the same crimes CoS has, save murder (for now, death threats have been sent out by anonymous and its fan-base).

And finally, these scandals you've been talking about (actually this is a repeat of what I've been saying), HAVE BEEN DEALT WITH BY AUTHORITIES. Why fight whats been tried, sentenced, and imprisoned?

Oh, and don't anyone try to compare emulation to hacking. Especially here. We play games on emulators that are at least 9-10 years old here (I think the newest game, as in the year it was released and is for download here on EmuParadise, could be WWF No Mercy for N64, I'm not entirely sure however). The companies that made the games aren't even selling them anymore. Anonymous is stealing information, making death threats, and taking down websites (strange that one of the supposed reasons they're up in arms is that the CoS tried to suppress a Tom Cruise scientology video, CoA then claims it wants freedom of information on the interwebz, and then proceeds to commit DDoS attacks CoS websites effectively blocking information on the interwebz, very hypocritical).
