Well, I don't know how many unique page views the site gets per day, but I figure if MasJ can afford to run EP largely on ads without having to beg for money every other day, Goozex should be able to run their service without kicking me in the wallet every time I want to do a trade.

Really though, knowing why something happens doesn't always make it easier to swallow. I'm probably gonna pay around ten bucks to ship these games tomorrow (That includes packaging, something I'm going to invest in in bulk as soon as I can...), but if I want something shipped in return once I get all the points situated, I gotta pony up another buck to do it. Again I understand that Goozex sees none of the money that I've payed for shipping, but as there is an expense involved on my part just to do one half of a trade, that I should pay further to complete that trade makes it seem like they're picking my pockets, even if that's not the case at all. It sucks is all, 'ya dig?

I've said it before elsewhere, and I'll say it again here; it's all in the context. If they were to ask me to pay a couple of dollars a month for a membership, I'd be cool with it. I know it's not really any different than paying for trade credits when all is said and done, but when you present the fees in a way that doesn't come off like extortion, it does a lot to ease my mind, y'know?

But hey, it could be worse. I didn't initially pay for any of the games that I'm shipping out tomorrow, so a buck twenty per game aint all that bad, nor is a buck for a trade credit. It's just the principle of asking me to pay for what should be a standard part of the service that irks me, even if it goes to pay server costs.

I see your point, don't get me wrong, but I don't see it as extortion. I just see it as their way of actually making a business out of it, instead of just as website. (Comparing it to EP again, MasJ isn't in it to make money)

I just received Burnout Revenge in the mail today. It's still $13 at Gamestop, but I got it for the $1 trade credit, and 200 points, which I got for shipping out 2 100 point games at $2 each. So I only have $5 invested in a $13 game. Not much when you look at just Burnout, but I have received 10 games so far from Goozex, so extrapolate that out to roughly $80 saved.

EDIT: just got 2 emails from Goozex:

    Dear Goozex Member,

You are receiving this email because one or more of the games you are requesting has changed point value:

Title Platform Point change Current point value
    Burnout 2: Point of Impact PlayStation 2 -50 100
    Pac-Man World 3 Game Cube +50 150
    Spyro: A Hero's Tail Game Cube +50 150
    Syberia II Xbox -50 100
nice to see more games going back down

Your game "Metroid Prime" (platform: Game Cube) has been requested.
Earn 100 Goozex points by mailing this game to the requesting user!

For more information on how to trade this game, visit the "My Library" page on www.goozex.com. You can also click on the link below to go directly to the transaction's page:

Click here to accept or reject the trade
Finally! I get to get rid of my double copy of Metriod

It's so hard playing these old games, I'm used to the luxury of COD4 and next gen games. But they're still fun nonetheless. Can't complain for free games. XD

Yeah, I bought Orphen I Ebay, (disc slightly beat up but worked fine) (and came w/ manual in great condition even though he said he didn't have it). But the Evergrace disc was flawless (that I got from Goozex). Its weird how that works. Granted it was a new seller on Ebay I bought it from.

I keep getting emails saying I am out of points, and missing trades. Sure, I could buy more points, but I have 2 games I sent out on the 6th, and havent received my feedback yet. I'd rather wait for those slow fuckers to respond and get the points for free.

Wow, this is one interesting site... just got my Sonic Adventure request confirmed, so hopefully the Dreamcast I bought on eBay comes before the game

    Also, first post. Hi.

Thanks to this service (the promo) I got a ton of free games.
I kept the ones worth playing and sold the lame ones to gamestop today. Got Mass Effect, Tony Hawk Project 8, and Lost Planet for 25 bucks new for the 360.

    Sweeet.
