Well, I don't know how many unique page views the site gets per day, but I figure if MasJ can afford to run EP largely on ads without having to beg for money every other day, Goozex should be able to run their service without kicking me in the wallet every time I want to do a trade.
Really though, knowing why something happens doesn't always make it easier to swallow. I'm probably gonna pay around ten bucks to ship these games tomorrow (That includes packaging, something I'm going to invest in in bulk as soon as I can...), but if I want something shipped in return once I get all the points situated, I gotta pony up another buck to do it. Again I understand that Goozex sees none of the money that I've payed for shipping, but as there is an expense involved on my part just to do one half of a trade, that I should pay further to complete that trade makes it seem like they're picking my pockets, even if that's not the case at all. It sucks is all, 'ya dig?
I've said it before elsewhere, and I'll say it again here; it's all in the context. If they were to ask me to pay a couple of dollars a month for a membership, I'd be cool with it. I know it's not really any different than paying for trade credits when all is said and done, but when you present the fees in a way that doesn't come off like extortion, it does a lot to ease my mind, y'know?
But hey, it could be worse. I didn't initially pay for any of the games that I'm shipping out tomorrow, so a buck twenty per game aint all that bad, nor is a buck for a trade credit. It's just the principle of asking me to pay for what should be a standard part of the service that irks me, even if it goes to pay server costs.
