Manic Miner (ZX Spectrum) On an Xbox spectrum emulator.
I'm playing Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake eater and that damn "The death" is fucking annoying. PM me if you know how to beat that bitch :gunner:
Hot Shots Golf 3 and Fore (Ugh..the puns!). Both great games, but annoying as diahrea shit dripping down your leg sometimes.
I'm playing AOE III, Star wars: Empire at War, and Resident Evil: Director's Cut.
The death? There are The Pain, The Fury, The Fear, The End, The Sorrow, and The Boss...
What happens in the sequence that you are having problems with? If you just randomly die at any point, just use the wake up pill... Of course this will only work at a certain point in the game, so if you get shot down, you're down.
I'm playing Armored Core: Silent Line. I'm training a decent AI. I need practice against a 'kinda' human opponent.
Legend of Mana, with 2 players. Any game that allows 2 players usually provides a lot of fun when there are 2 players.
Back on Morrowind. I'm on Red Mountain, about to enter Dagoth Ur's area, with Sunder and Keening collected (it's a shame these weapons, despite having awesome magic effects, suck balls for attacking with them. :() I've got Tribunal and Bloodmoon to go through after this, too. >_>
Also, La Mulana.
Also, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.
Also, replaying Fable with an evil character. I played through as a good guy my first time through, and now I'm trying to experience all the other stuff in the game before I uninstall it and reclaim the almost 3 GB This game's installtion takes up. I'm short on HD space, so that's a lot to me.
Been playing alot of "live for speed" its the best driving sim ive played, you can do the mean drifts
And me and my mates always play EA rugby 2006 {yes EA finally made a decent rugby game!}
Yesterday I started to play Donkey Konga, I know it's not GH, but it's fun too when playing with more people :P
I'm on something of a Castlevania kick right now, playing the GBA games in reverse order. Finished Aria of Sorrow and Harmony of Dissonance (What happened to the bosses in that game? All of them were neutered, and it's really disappointing to see old foes like Death and Legion jobbed out like that), and now I'm starting on Circle of the Moon.
Thus far, it seems a lot harder than the other GBA castlevanias.
I'm playing through both the Richter and Old Axe Armor modes on Castlevania Portrait of Ruin right now, Sisters mode was pretty easy.
I rented Godzilla: Save the Earth, or something. It sucked. I just, couldn't get into it at all. :| I also rented Marvel Ultimate Alliance, which was pretty fucking good. It would have been cool if it were more than an X-Men Legends clone, though.
Just started playing Resident evil 4, but I can't beat the garrador, as I keep getting killed after running out of the cell, although I start walking after I get away from the doorway. Any tips? I have the semi-auto rifle, the riot gun, and the blacktail.
It helps if you have something like a regular grenade or a fire grenade. You just need something to stun it, or wait until it rams it's claws into a wall, then high tail it behind him and shoot the parasite from behind.
Resident Evil 4 on the PC, just because.
It's a terrible looking port, featuring absolutely NO lighting effects of any kind whatsoever. It looks considerably worse than the PS2 version, not that the PS2 version was any slouch in the graphics departement. The game just screams half-assed port in that respect.
The gameplay seems to be all there, pretty-much. It still plays well enough to be worth looking at if you don't have a GC or PS2, but just don't go in expecting much in the way of eye-candy, or you're going to be severely disappointed.
Did you crank up every visual option available? If so, and the game still looks as bad as you say, then... o_O. I'm obtaining it at the moment, even though I have the PS2 version. I just want to see if it has any extra's that the PS2/GC versions don't have.
Polo!! Get the game and run it on your ubor PC and give us some screenshots! :P
Wait.
I'm waiting for someone to cut his head off.
No port huh? :P
I'll check that out. =)
I'm currently playing Battlefield 2142. If you want to add me to your list, Galcian is the name. Otherwise playing Oblivion yet again so I can ahve a good character when Shivering Isles comes out.
About RE4... good game and it would be worth it even without spiffy light effects, but I do understand Cyber's concerns, if it has less than the console versions it is a half-assed port.
Heh, I'm still on Battlefield 1942, Iwo Jima. Haven't played it much lately because I figure that I'm gonna wanna do some training in how to fly a plane.
Right now I'm still playing Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice For All, and am also playing Hotel Dusk Room 215 and Bleach DS(pretty good, surprised I didn't try it earlier, am looking forward to the sequel).
There are no options to crank up. At all. Oh, you can increase the resolution, but as far as turning on lighting and whatnot, there is absolutely no options to effect these things available to the gamer. I've read comments regarding the game elsewhere, and even those with beefy hardware report that the game looks plain, with no lighting or special effects (volumetric fog and whatnot...) to be found anywhere.
As far as extras go, it's been confirmed from awhile back that it's a port of the PS2 version in the way of bonus content. I can't see myself playing through to find out, unless of course someone makes a trainer. Maybe then I'll stomach this atrocious version of such a great game, just to power through and see what I get upon completion.
It's a shame they screwed the pooch on the graphics front, as this game should've at least looked as good as the GC version. @_@
That's my train of thought exactly. It should've at least looked like the PS2 version at worst, and more realistically should've been closer in graphical quality to the GC version. Both versions looked great, and while the lighting effects weren't as good in the PS2 version, it trumps the PC version by miles.
EDIT: The game doesn't look bad in still images, but anyone who's played the other versions should be able to tell the difference just the same. If there's a way to make a video, I might do that and upload it to Youtube so you can see it in action, so that y'all can see it running.

Good to know it's not worth the money/time.
^ Use Growler Guncam to record it. My recordings on my Celeron are at full speed with that program. So yeah.
I tried it, but it didn't work all that well. Apparently the game uses some sort of graphics dealy that the program doesn't like, so the resulting video was full of flickering and crap.
I'm about five or six hours into Wild ARMs V. Not so bad, really. ^_^ It keeps most of the best elements of the fourth game, and throws out a lot of the not so good bits (though it's still stupidly easy, and the battle system is still too easy to abuse). It's also very nice both musically and graphically.
And it's nice and friendly in terms of its use of the Japanese language, featuring full furigana for every kanji. I think it's the first game I've ever played that has done that, but it's a nice idea, and it's allowed me to speed through it without the horrific amount of kanji dictionary referencing that usually accompanies my import RPG playing. =P
I've been playing a lot of Armored Core: Last Raven... BUT ONLINE! Playing against other players is where this game REALLY shines. X-Link Kai is one of the best things out right now.
Bubble Bobble - Mame on the Xbox.
1941: Counter Attack - CPS-1- Final Burn Alpha XXX PR on the Xbox.
Edit: 1944 - The Loop Master - CPS-2-Final Burn Alpha XXX PR on the Xbox.
Cyber: That. Just. Sucks.
I was expecting the game to look BETTER than the GCN version... Shuh!
BTW, I remember someone mentioning FRAPS, if you're still in the mood: http://www.fraps.com/download.php.
But yeah, even in screenshots, I can see how awfully plain that looks... I'll cancel my plans to get it. What a waste. Did you PAY for that!? :P
---
As for WHAT I'm playing right now... Zelda: Twilight Princess (GCN). It's one part Ocarina, one part Majora's. I love it!! =D Makes up for the so-so game that was Wind Waker, THAT'S for sure...
I was playing The Sims 2 (PS2) with my brother a couple days ago. I have no idea how it compares to the PC versions (though something tells me it's not as good), but even so, we were having fun! ^__^
Err... I haven't finished FFXII... Oops! :P
Silent Hill 2 (now that I've hax00red it to disable Vertex shading, thus making the flashlight work), and Valkrie Profile. MAN, I have no idea what to do in that game, but it looks so pretty! I just about pissed myself when I saw the Enix and Tri-Ace logos when I loaded it for the first time. Yay Star Ocean makers! :D
Banned, for BF1942: Don't bother learning to fly if you've only got a keyboard. Get a USB controller or a joystick, or just take a tank. Flying with the mouse and keyboard will put you into the ground or the ocean (or on one creative occasion for me, an ally's plane in midair :P). It's IMPOSSIBLE. Also, click the "change view" button once when you get in the plane to remove the dashboard view. It just clutters things up and makes the ground harder to see for bombing.
At the moment, I'm divided between Perfect Dark, Goldeneye and Kingdom Hearts.
Totally awesome. :D
Yeah, me too. I always imagined that with the right machine, the graphics would be better than the GC version. I mean, why not? The game looked plenty sexy on that console, and a PC can theoretically perform better if it's all beefed up and shit, so why is it that the game came out looking like a slightly higher resolution version of the PS2 game, just with worse graphics, and absolutely no shading or graphical effects whatsoever?
And why is it that it doesn't have an option to boost the graphical quality? I can increase the resolution, but that's about it. Don't most games these days feature that sort of thing standard? Like, nearly all of them? Is it that this seems to be nothing more than a port of the PS2 version that is to blame?
Whatever the case may be, my dreams of playing a better-looking-than-GC version of RE4 are dashed to smithereens on the rock that is named Ubi. Fuck you Ubi, or whoever you had develop the game. Fuck you in the eye. To death.
Oh, and yeah....I um..bought the game. I uh...spent alot of hard-earned Monopoly money on it. Yeah. :P
I'm playing FFIX, also. On the RE4 issue, this sounds like another case of DMC: 3, which even with the patch, looks like crap. Onimishu wasn't too bad, though.
I got to the Graveyard/Church area, and the lighting and fog effects that are so good on both the PS2 and GC, are non-existant in the PC version. It's lit just like any other area in the game. That was one of the most atmospheric areas in the other two versions, and here it's so bland.
The game is still fun, but it's lost alot of the atmosphere. The ambiance was a big part of RE4, and it's all but gone in the PC version. I might suggest this game to those who lack the means to play the other, better versions, but even then it's a hard-sell. It's just...so bland. They really dropped the ball. One can only hope that they release a patch or something that make the graphics suck less.
Well.. To break off your RE4 discussion, I am playing The Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean on PSP and enjoying it a lot.
Something tells me that PC port was rushed to market well before work was concluded... Shame. *Pets "something" -- gives cracker*
Someone didn't want to pay any more dev time? Happens all the time, I guess... Even, I'm pretty sure we would've had these PS2 extras on the GCN version were it not for the same issue... Oh well...
I decided I'm too awesome to let F-Zero GX rot in my GCN drawer without even completing the story mode. Sucks getting those tickets -- I don't even have the time!
Oh? I've played the three Gagharv games on the PC, actually, and I liked them quite a bit. ^_^ How are the PSP remakes? Kinda wanted to give them a go...
I just finished Thunderforce V for the first time, though I've had it for a long time now. Nice-ish. ^^; Not as good as III or IV, but still a fun shooter. I really wish they had stuck with 2-D, though, as the primitive 3-D graphics are abhorrently ugly by today's standards, having aged very badly indeed. And it could have looked so pretty with the Saturn's 2-D capabilities too... =(
