Christ, the game only just came out 6 months ago. Give it time. Fairly certain that Capcom said they would be doing a sequel. Or at least indirectly implied that they would be.


Anyways. I would love to see a sequel for Jet Force Gemini without such a shitty ending. The picture I have in my head is a Metroidvania type game like Metroid Prime, with third-person view/controls like Ratchet & Clank. One giant, interconnected world where you can't just fly from one mission to the next and have to actually explore and backtrack once you find new items in order to help the denizens of a planet being ravaged by war. Whether it uses the Tribals again doesn't really matter.

Frontlines: Fuel of War is the only thing I can think of right now. I liked the first game's multiplayer which was kind of like battlefield.

Like Robotnik said, story first and foremost. I also like well crafted environments that I can get lost in as well, ex. Skyrim, Fallout, GTA San Andreas and IV, etc. but story is always first for me. I'm really fine with everything as it is, since I'm not much of a graphics whore, but if I really had to pick one I would nominate the PS1 era. Those games just have not held up well (graphically, not gameplay) in my eyes, as opposed to wonderful 2D sprites of the 16-bit era etc. Sure, I'd like full on remakes of some old games (who wouldn't) but that isn't the question.

Seriously, another Dark Cloud would be fantastic, or another proper Actraiser (2 is a stinker if you ask me). Why? Both of those games were RPGs with Simulation aspects, and with todays consoles and our upcoming next gen systems, I think some truly amazing game worlds could be created with these licenses.

I personally follow the Starcraft 2 scene quite a bit, only recently started but I cant seem to get enough action haha some of the matchup's are pretty ridiculous and seeing the Koreans crush everyone is pretty amusing to say the least.

I'm not a fan of them. I will honestly say I've never given it much of a chance either, but it's just not something that appeals to me. Something that really puts the damper on my opinion of E-Sports are general attitudes of the MLG sponsored people. I've played with and against enough of them on the likes of CoD and Halo, and I'm pretty confident in saying that 98% are complete assholes. Obviously, that's not to say that they are all like that, but it definitely sours me on the whole thing.

I've watched a few fighting tournaments here and there but that's about it for me.

I don't follow a particular game but I do find myself watching speedruns or friendly "pro" matches. Usually I see this stuff by randomly seeing channels on the front page of broadcast sites such as justin.tv or twitch.tv (though now the 2 kind of merged). I don't watch anything to do with League of Legends; no real reason why.

Last speedrun I saw was I think Super Mario 64,the one with the sine sprites and canvas painting levels. The last pro match I saw was I guess some party hang-out thing while players played P4 Arena. I suppose the only reason why I watch these is because it's live.

I don't really play any of these games but I kinda enjoy just watching. I can't get into pro fps tournaments or matches; I simply don't care for them. It only makes it more annoying when I see said tournaments representing their nation just to see the loser get bashed and stereotyped.

Late late reply, but eh, I'm here now.

ESports, not so much, but some starcraft II casts can get very interesting or amusing. Try "When Cheese Fails", by Life's a Glitch TV (yes, they're on YouTube). They can get pretty amusing on occasion.

@Lash: SC2 *is* esports, you know. :wacko:

In any case, when I had the time I always tuned in to some Day9 or Tasteless + Artosis at the GSL. I'm not even into SC2 that much and they still entertained the hell out of me. They're just that good.

Not a big fan of watching Starcraft or Halo being played but last year I caught the EVO Marvel vs Capcom 3 Finals and got a real kick out of it. Which is weird because I'm not a big fighting game fan, I used to play them when I was younger but not anymore.

I know it is, but I don't really watch the videos of the high-end eSports games. I just watch the When Cheese Fails things, which aren't really recorded on eSports competitive levels.

Mine personally would have to be Final Fantasy VIII, The reason being is down to how much I enjoy the storyline in that game... FFVIII is my choice as well. I first played it when I was pretty young and I've replayed it several times through since then, so Balamb Garden actually feels like a virtual home. I love it.

I'd leave games how they were made. I get pretty attached to each game's style regardless of when they were made. The graphics become as much a part of the game as anything else for me, though I can see how that could bring in a new/larger audience in newer generations for remakes and such.

I actually like the E-sports scene. I've gone to a local convention a couple of times, and while I don't play any of the competitive games, I enjoy following the SC2 players. It's fun to cheer for my favorites and I manage decently enough to keep up with what's going on even though I don't play the game myself. And I have strange (only because I play very few of them) love for fighting games, so those are fun to watch, too, although I don't follow any of the players in that genre.

Due to Devi making me really happy by answering almost all my questions I have decided to carry on with my questions of the day.

I like when I feel as if I can really get involved in a game world or interact with the environment a lot, so... *takes a deep breath* ( :wacko: )

I'd take the item menu from Chrono Cross (I love that each item has an illustration and extra info when you pull up details); the setting interaction of point-and-click games (some of them get very creative with how much you can look at and what the comments/character thoughts are for each little thing, even if they're irrelevant to the game); the trade system and castle building system of Suikoden III (it's the only one I've completed, so I can't say whether the others have these same features, but I love them); the time system, changing NPC dialogue, main characters, and filler-like cutscenes from Resonance of Fate (aka End of Eternity. This game has some of my favorite characters ever, and the cutscenes often feature small bits of their daily life together while weaving in parts from the main plot. Plus you really get a sense of each NPC's personality as the days go by and they talk about different things, which I think is really neat. But I'm only half-way through, so no spoilers please! ^_^ ); then throw in the detective concept and high adrenaline events of Norman Jayden's storyline in Heavy Rain; and finish it off with the MGS series' epic (albeit sometimes confusing) endings - that's my perfect game, though I'm sure it would probably be a flop irl :lol

I kinda wanna see an rpg action game. I'd combine the S4 mmo and Borderlands together. Uh, if I had a third option I'd add in Mass Effect (1-3 ?) just for the sake of more skills since Borderlands only gives you one.

What I really enjoyed in S4 was the melee system combined with side-dodging/dashing. Something about sliding behind your opponent to hit him/her with a giant sword backhand style and hearing CRITICAL is incredibly satisfying to me. Only problem is, rushing people with guns will usually result with bullet holes in you. Having infinite dodging makes it too easy as well. I'd probably make it like, a heavy attack would knock opponents back while you can spam light attacks and so and so just like S4.

What I like in Borderlands is how each manufacturer has something unique to them. There's also 6 different kinds of guns, and there's 4 elements making a lot of selective choices. Also, you can equip 4 guns. I like how in mass effect it felt like when I was picking a character it was their actual "Class." Playing a strict class kind of makes me want to play the game again as a different one. I do like how every class can do whatever though (but some better than others). I don't know how to put it really, I just liked having Lift and Singularity on Mass Effect 1 for crowd control =) More skills w/o being overpowered?

Hmm, my first choice would probably be Sim City, as long as it was a city I built :wacko:

Otherwise, I'd say the Citadel from Mass Effect is a pretty cool place. I think Rapture from Bioshock is cool as well, but living there would be less than ideal with all the drug dependency and whatnot. :wacko:

I think the whole metacritic thing is taken way out of perspective anyway. I barely trust reviewers these days - why the hell would I trust a site that converts scores to a 100 point system and then takes the average of these numbers?

I think the biggest problem with metacritic is when you get those SS inspired companies like EA and Activision give out bonuses only if the game reaches say an 88%, etc. I remember there was a real stink about this when Dead Space came out - it hit 89%, and if it would have been a 90 then they would have gotten bonuses or something along those lines. Developers are living and dying by the metacritic rating, and that's just plain wrong.

You're absolutely right. What bothers me though is that I've read interviews where the developer says the goal is to get a metacritic rating of 85% during the development process. You could argue that he means they are shooting for quality, but I think the goal of any dev team should just be to make the absolute best experience they can and not worry about hitting some imaginary number and doing dumb things late in the process like add a multiplayer mode to a game that doesn't need it at all. :wacko:

This kind of thought process saddens me to no ends. The developers are trying to satisfy metacritic, not THE FANS!? Screw the experts' critics! People shouldn't rely too much on the experts' opinions!

I would have to say a Tales world. I like how most people have superhuman abilities due to exspheres/capacity cores/bodhi blastia and how common magic is. I think it would be a joy to explore these worlds with their abandoned castles and deep caves where you find epic creatures. I don't think I can pick a favorite anything so I'm gonna throw a few in here. For serious cruel types I really enjoyed Kessler from inFAMOUS. He seemed like a real bad guy in the sense that he didn't hesitate for even a fraction of a second when killing people, and when you get to the end of the game and discover his motivations it makes you appreciate him despite what he did to Cole.

My other choice would be Alexander or the Shadow both from Amnesia. Alexander's character was extremely wicked doing anything for personal gain, whereas the Shadow is the scariest unstoppable force ever in a game.

My favorite humor villains are Bowser in RPG Marios (Paper series, Mario and Luigi, and SNES RPG), and GlaDOS from Portal 1 and 2

I have to agree with Dr. Ivo Robotnik, the concept of the world of the game, the history of that world and the specific part of the world that the plot covers, ESPECIALLY if it's tied to gameplay in an important matter is the most gripping part of any game.

Odin Sphere did such a great job of this that I beat it in less than a week! I wanted to know the next part of the story so bad I just couldn't stop. You play as different characters who not only have different personalities but different gameplay as well and all of their individual plots weave into one super story. All the little stories and the big one are expertly crafted and the gameplay differences make sense because of that well written tale. It's without a doubt one of my faves.

My other favorite concept is personalized character growth found in most rpgs. Choosing stats and spell points in Diablo 2, or stats in Demon/Dark Souls, deciding who gets what capacity core/exsphere in tales, choosing who is what job in FF5 so on so forth. Basically Non-linear leveling up like Fire Emblem where the game just rolls random stats or Golden Sun where all your stats increase.

If every single of one of them was handled like OoT on the 3ds I'd say N64 hands down. If they could do all the SNES games like 4 Swords Adventures on the GCN where they had 3D graphics over the 2D sprites then I would do that generation as well.

For the N64 games they should just upgrade the lighting, the poly count, higher res textures, throw in some AA and all that and stop there, don't fix any bugs code or anything not related to looks and graphics. Kind of like using PCSX2 to upscale PS2 games to HD

I would love a Lufia 3. I love turn based RPGs like this and I love this series' Zelda-esque dungeon system too. (You got arrows to shoot switches, bombs to open secret doors etc) It would be great to get the story added on to or a new cast of characters in a different universe with super awesome graphics. A nice musical score would be cool too and maybe fleshing out the pet system. Lastly instead of random encounters on the world map make enemies visible and avoidable like they are in dungeons.
I think everyone would enjoy the puzzles mixed with that Zelda/Metroid go back to old places for more treasure mechanic on top of a solid strategetic turn based RPG

I think it's cool that they exist though I don't personally follow any. My brother is a high ranking gold player on SC2 and he follows a lot so I know of a few names like Idra or WhiteRA or however you spell those and I'll watch them if he is or I'll watch them once in a blue moon, but I don't go out of my way to watch them most of the time.

I will also occasionally watch fighting game matches like UMvC3, SF etc, but again if I'm going to watch something it'll probably be a show that has a plot or is a comedy like Whose Line is it Anyway. I don't really watch regular sports either, I'd rather play videogames or play sports than watch them

Zelda and Demon/Dark Souls. I know they already did a God of War Zelda mix with Darksiders and I don't care. All they really did was paste God of War's combat and maybe tone on top of it anyway.

I want an open world that has interconnected shortcuts like Dark Souls with the same leveling up system, only they have rupees as well for buying items instead of using souls. Souls will be for experience and leveling up only.
Most of the familiar Zelda items will return with a more realistic look like Twilight Princess and an even more realistic feel like Dark Souls.
You will have an HP MP and stamina bar all increasable through souls like Demon's Souls and you'll still get heart containers which add a chunk onto your bar like Blue Crystals in Devil May Cry. You will have limited bottles to contain healing items like Zelda but more than 4, not as many as Dark Souls 20 though either, probably around 8 or 9.
The story will be far more direct and in your face like OoT told through cut scenes and whatnot, but items will still have very detailed descriptions to flesh out the history and the world that the cutscenes only touch on.
The combat will be exactly like the Souls games but the difficulty won't be that high. You will still have to learn attack patterns and actually block and dodge only you won't take as much damage so mistakes are less punishing.
I'm not sure if there should be coop like the souls games, my first thought would be no that it is single player focused like zelda. Maybe there will be an alternate mode for pvp or horde mode idk.
Lastly there will be multiple towns like Zelda and you won't need bonfires to replenish magic and heal without items or to level up, bonfires may be be included as a full heal, like discovering a fairy fountain only you can't bottle any of it to take with you, maybe they will fill your magic too. Otherwise you level up from the pause menu, save anywhere like OoT and will also get a way to warp between bonfires.
The tone will lean more towards the Souls games only not quite as disturbing, no screaming bloody zombie children, or women who have a spider where their legs should be. It will be more mature than Twilight Princess though. You will witness people die and sutff, it won't be senseless violence though, just enough to make you know who the bad guy is.
Finally the main character will remain silent.
