She got a virus that her antivirus took too long to detect called PE VIRUT.XK, any idea how to remove it? It keeps infecting her files even when her antivirus removes it and she reboots the computer.

I'm sorry but can you explain how she could do that?
She used her computer's restore disc and it didn't work, it cleared her entire PC out, but a few minutes later, the virus appeared again and now she can't get online anymore, or use the Task Manager.

she gets this message when she tries to do that
"Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS2\system32\rundll32.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click search."
edit--
Sorry to double-post but this virus is annoying both me and her, she got it while possibly downloading Alcohol 120% and when I tried to send her my rundll32.exe (she can't go on IE or Firefox but AIM was working before the virus showed itself again) it disappeared when she received it, I'd appreciate any help for her, most of her homework for college is online.

Thanks to all of you, she turned off system restore and scanning her computer for the virus, once she restarts her computer, I'll be able to see if it worked or not.
She thanks you too.
b1gwi11, she's using Trend Micro, I recommended to her that she use NOD32 (I use AVG though)

We're still not sure just where exactly it came from, but our first thought was of course the most recent thing she downloaded, which was Alcohol 120%.
If she downloaded Alcohol from a p2p like E-mule, then yeah, she could have gotten a virus from that.
Same if she downloaded it from a dodgy web site.
People embed viruses and trojans and such into .exe files for popular applications and put them on file-sharing networks and sites to spread them.
I found this out myself when I downloaded a freeware game from a GeoCities site, and got a virus that infected every .exe on my comp.
Not sure if the virus was added by the game maker or if somebody hacked his site and put the virus in the game.
Oh, nah I'm not blaming the program, just blaming the source a bit, see it was a torrent file, she was burning a backup of my PSOv2 disc, she did it, but then the next day all this happened. I know Alcohol 120% is an excellent program (though I stick to DiscJuggler) but maybe there was something bad in the torrent she got that gave her that virus.
The ed2k network, used by E-Mule, E-Donkey, Shareaza, etc. is even worse.
You have to know what to look for or you will download a trojaned app.
And even when you know know what to watch for, it's still risky.
